Among all adults, Biden's approval rating is just 33% in this poll, worse than Trump's low as president (36%) and the lowest since George W. Bush from 2006-2008. Fifty-eight percent disapprove of Biden's work.
Among groups, just 31% of women now approve of Biden's work in office, a new low (as do 34% of men). He won 57% of women in 2020.
He's at 28% approval among independents, a customary swing voter group; a low of 32% among moderates; and a low of 41% among college graduates, 10 points off his career average in that group.

Oh my God! This is horrible.
Biden only has a chance in 2024 because his likely opponent is a very weak, awful candidate. Trump only has a chance in 2024 because his likely opponent is a very weak, awful candidate. The 2024 election is shaping up to be the most disgusting spectacle in the history of the world. Seriously, how did we get into such a mess?
Extremists on bith sides.
The extremists have loud squeaky voices and get more attention than they deserve. Their true influence is marginal. Once we get rid of Trump and Biden, a real president can restore some sense of normalcy in Federal Government.
How has Biden not been a normal president?
He is more "normal' than Trump but that bar is set very low and at the end of the day if Biden was ever worthy of the POTUS position, it was 20 to 30 years ago. He is at this point a liability for the country. Is he a better option than Trump? Yes, but that is saying very little.

Yahoo/ YouGov survey of 1482 adults in days following SOTU showed no improvement in perceptions of Biden.
Before the speech, 40% approval and 55% disapproval for Biden performance. After SOTU, 39% approval and 55% disapproval.

You can say the same about Mr. Joe Biden, too. His SOTU was directly aimed to his base while badmouthing the rest of the country who didn't support him. That's why his SOTU had the lowest polling of any SOTU in history.
So what are you left with? The irony is that the polls show Turnip improving his vote share among most demographics, so as it stands he has attracted new voters while Biden is losing voters. Funny, isn't it?

No one has a false sense of security. Democrats are scared out of our minds. Why in the world would you think anyone feels anything other than terror and dread?
The SOTU gave us some comfort. The Hur disaster was some more. But no, you will not find a Dem around who feels like this is easy breezy, the whole thing's locked up. First of all, we were there for 2016 - and second of all, we're just not that type of people. And third of all, Jesus almighty the stakes are sky high. This isn't something where if we don't like the guy elected, well, so what we'll get through it - this is something where the guy we're opposing is essentially an actual demon.
Really? Turnip serves four years, if he wins. Another election happens in 2028. Life goes on.
Some (many) of you need to get a grip with reality.
Funny that some of you think SOTU was great when he was pumped full of drugs to be alert and read from a teleprompter but ignore his disastrous public outings in the swing states in the following days. He's an 81 year old man with all the cognitive decline of a rapidly aging man. I have more respect for the few of you who are genuinely honest about it and admit they're voting for the party and policy advisors and it doesn't matter that Biden is heading for the final sunset. At least that's honest. Just 'fess up and be honest.
The man literally tried to steal the 2020 election by 1) creating a false elector scheme and 2) strong arming states to falsify votes and 3) fomenting an insurrection to force a delay in counting the Electoral College votes in an attempt to push the decision ultimately to the GOP controlled House.
What makes you think there is any respect for "law" such that a Trump term would end at noon on January 20, 2029?

PP here. I think democrat leadership feels a false sense of security. Not necessarily voters. They're so confident in their alzheimers patient of a president that they won't do the right thing and pick anyone, literally anyone else, to run. I think they think Joe looks stronger and more likeable than he actually does becuz they aren't listening to us!
Nobody including leadership is feeling confident. I think what you see is that people aren't feeling nihilistic or hopeless. That is different from feeling confident.
Biden is a good candidate. He's a good president. He beat Trump before - and there is no hypothetical Dem superstar coming to save you. Dem leadership doesn't have the power to simply replace Biden, either, even if there were some obvious replacement.
What "us" do you mean here, who aren't being listened to?
