Science says it is not. Beauty is actually relatively objective. There is a now legendary study that was done using data collected from that crazy old website Hot-or-Not. And bottom line, we all see beauty in people about the same way. As far as coupling up goes: attractive people prioritize attractiveness and generally end up with other attractive people. Less attractive people focus less on looks and more on other qualities like sense of humor, loyalty, kindness, etc. Of course attractive people are plenty funny, kind, and loyal too -- that isn't the issue. And there will always be outliers. But beauty is objective people, and attractive people tend to pick attractive people.

Can’t imagine them bringing all that stuff.

I think Ellen was the best option.
So many of the others are damaged (from their childhoods or previous relationships).

The home towns are SO SO much more important at this stage of life. They have ALOT more to blend than the usual bachelor/ette casts who often have no real jobs, don't own a house, aren't sure which city they want to live in, no kids, etc.
These cast members have full lives to show to Gerry. So much intel on who they are and the decisions they've made along the way.
There is a big difference in lived experiences between Leslie and Theresa. Leslie has been single for several decades. Theresa has been in a long term marriage. I'm not saying one's experience makes them a better person than the other...but I could see that it might be easier for Theresa to slide into the married spouse role than Leslie. And Gerry might notice that comfortable-ness with being half of a partnership in Theresa more than Leslie. When you are on your own for a long time, you might approach interactions with more independence or be more wary of giving power to another person.

Hadn't gotten much sense of Faith before, but really liked her. She seems like a happy person overall, even with her sad story about childhood, whereas I get weird vibes from Leslie and Theresa seems needy.
Their homes and families will reveal a lot more. Things like how a house smells, cleanliness, organization, if family members seem nice, sane.
I can think of two second marriages that didn't work due to lives not being compatible. One was due to lack of cleanliness/housekeeping and the other due to a problem with the spouse's mentally ill child. (At least, that's what I know.) But it's definitely harder to blend two lives that have been separately lived for many years. You have different ways of doing everything.

Just watched. I'm thinking it's going to be Faith or Theresa. I like Faith better, but I think Gerry's a bit, I don't know, homespun for her? I think Theresa is probably a better match for him, but I don't like her that much. I can't figure Leslie out, but he's clearly the most attracted to her (and who can blame him). On the subject of Leslie ... that "You're my girl" thing ... are the producers throwing that in there in editing to misdirect us? If they are, and she isn't the one, seems cruel of him to say it to her.
