We were out there to visit friends so we decided to go sit in the rain and catch this one because why not. Lol

Crushed? First half was a slug fest and was tied at the half (6 all I think). Yorktown played a bit “strong style” and got away with some questionable “playing” but they didn’t get called so whatever.

Cville came out the second half and just seemed to maul Yorktown. The score was indicative to that Cville team. 😳 not slagging ytown but that Cville team is GOOD. I thought it was hype around them this year but, holy crap. . . Extremely well coached, talent rich and just fast.

And for all I heard that their parents and crowd were jerks, I found the opposite. Even their announcer was complimentary to Ytown and knew his stuff. A few really jerk ytown parents but I get that with the way the game was going.

Really, a fun game and worth the $5 and the frozen toes and fingers.


The jerk parents must have had laryngitis or finally got put in their place. A few parents in particular seem to find it appropriate to coach from the sideline, make rude comments about players, or laugh when a player on an opposing team makes a mistake. Good to hear that they didn't show that side during the Yorktown game.

Westfield has three juniors on the field and one in the goal who are a powerful force. They also have a freshman who is an incredible player.

I wouldn't underestimate them either. I don't think they're ready to dominate the district but they are a talented team and that cannot be denied.

They will get smoked 3-4 players can’t carry a team without depth.

Second that about the pp head coach of cville, she is awesome. Sad to say but I do also agree with pp on the oakton head coach, he doesn’t really care about the players and is only focused in on winning a state title, it’s pretty pitiful.

Cville also has a head coach who gets the game, can make adjustments by also prepare for any team. Oakton head coach just doesn’t have it, doesn’t understand the game and how to implement strategy. It’s extremely clear after watching an oakton game, hold their top 2 middies or deny them the ball, then they have nothing left.

I think the Oakton vs. Centreville game will come down to pure drive. Oakton is a solid, great team, but I believe, if everyone’s healthy and on their game, CVille will edge by. CVille has the passion and hard work that I think no other school has right now and the talent and team bond to
back it up. It will all come down to which team wants it more though.

Anyone with half a brain knows the district and region will be a battle. Oakton, Madison, Centreville and Westfield battling it out. The top district by far in the state.

Potomac v Madison was a great game. Hard fought. Tied at half. Potomac UA 150 Sophomore was tough on draws in second half. Nice contributions from Freshman and Sophomore players on Madison. Two tough knee injuries for Madison as well. Well-played. The girls will remember this one in the driving rain for a long time.
