Someone else reported on Reddit today that their account is showing an administrative forebearance from Sept 1 to February 17, 2023 applied to their account. They didn’t request it.
My guess is that it’s a front run of an announcement tomorrow that payment pause and waiver will both be extended into the New Year.

Makes sense.
No forgiveness.
No APR change.
Forbearance til February 2023.
Get your shit together by August 2023.
Your loans are your loans.
From now on, college education only for the elite
Know your place you little rascal. My child of privilege deserves your spot
I know plenty of MC students who got college educations and paid off their loans through hard work. What expressly amuses me is DCUM is filled with white collar workers making $200K HHI, paying for nannies, housing payments of $3000-$5000/month, going on vacations, but ask them to pay for the education they signed up for suddenly it’s I’M POOR

No, I think you are confusing support and benefit. I support loan forgiveness but I won’t benefit from it. The person in your fantasy scenario making $200k wouldn’t benefit either. High earners won’t get their loans forgiven but support the bills for others.
There are people who are ok with some people receiving a benefit when they personally do not get the benefit. For example, I supported the childcare subsidy during the pandemic because it helped low income families feed their kids during the pandemic. I didn’t receive the money because I could easily feed my family. Sometimes it isn’t about me. I wish conservatives would understand that and stop being so self-obsessed.
I'm a high earner and all of my loans are likely to forgiven within the next six months. I didn't ask for this program and don't support it. But of course, people with significant loan balances are almost all high earners.

It is not self-obsession. I think about the truck driver or the waitress or the construction worker who couldn't afford college. They decided to find a job and earn a living so they could pay THEIR bills. Why should we require them to pay for the bills of others?
