The outfit is inappropriate for the event (what's new), but I don't hate it for something else. It would've looked cute at the picnic last night.
The outfit is perfectly appropriate for watching a parade. Good grief.
The problem is that no one else, including Melania, is dressed parade-appropriate. I like her outfit, but it still looks wrong because it doesn't match how anyone else is dressed. I almost wonder if someone in the WH social office is doing this to her on purpose.
Except, there's no problem at all. Usha looked adorable, as another poster said, and completely appropriate. She doesn't have to "match" anyone else or wear a suit - to a parade! I think today's outfits was one of her best.
I'm agreeing with you that it was the most parade-appropriate outfit. But her job as SLOTUS is not to look adorable, it's to represent the Trump Administration. The rest of the women representing the administration, most notably FLOTUS, were dressed in business attire. It looks weird that she wasn't, and it also suggests that someone in the WH social office should to a better job of helping her do hers.
Oh, goodness. It really triggers you when she doesn't wear what *you* deem appropriate, doesn't it? Meanwhile, she represents the administration very well.

Hilarious you think any person but Melania has a say over Melania’s outfits
I don't know who picks her clothes, and it's irrelevant to this point. It would help Usha to know what Melania is planning to wear.

Her outfit is not my style at all. However, I'll give her credit for wearing something appropriate for a WH picnic. Now, the other side of this is that Trump himself looks absolutely stupid wearing a full suit to a PICNIC, and Mel's outfit just highlights how dumb he looks.
Fair point. This is still bad though.
Better this Jill’s closet full of drape dresses.
When I originally posted this I thought of comparing it to a Jill flowery outfit. It’s that bad.
I like Melania's outfit and the only thing wrong with Jill's outfits to me is that they were never tailored correctly and constantly overpowered her small frame.
I think older women in bold florals is actually a good look.

I've criticized her often, but I don't think this is so bad.
I don't think it's bad but she's underdressed compared to the other women in the viewing deck. It's weird how her staff never seems to tell her what Melania is wearing.
Melania wears separates to a luncheon...Usha wears a cocktail dress.
Melania wears a skirt suit to a parade...Usha wears pants.
Etc.

I know that skirt length is in style now but I hate it so much.
I love it on HER because that's the only person it looks good on, is a rail thin 6' tall model. It looks like shit on normies like me.
She looks amazing.

Usha smiling and waving like she's the Princess of Wales. Okay girl.
I said in the other thread, she saw her husband putting on a suit and thought, oh, yeah, this seems like an event I can wear jeans and a tee shirt too? All of the other women in the viewing deck are in business attire.
