When I originally posted this I thought of comparing it to a Jill flowery outfit. It’s that bad.

I like Melania's outfit and the only thing wrong with Jill's outfits to me is that they were never tailored correctly and constantly overpowered her small frame.

I think older women in bold florals is actually a good look.

This is a good point. FWIW, I think her outfit seems more parade appropriate than anyone else's...but it's true that she sticks out since everyone else is biz casual. I don't know if the outfit isn't dressy enough so much as it's not a work outfit while everyone else's is.

I think a lot of it is Melania has a fashion background and she's interested in beauty and fashion, so she inherently knows what to wear. Usha needs a little more help and I guess whoever handles the aesthetics of the two ladies doesn't realize she needs a little extra push.

I do think her outfit is more parade appropriate, but imo if everyone else is dressed more formally than you, you underdressed, they didn't overdress.

I agree. It's very military-inspired, in a patriotic color...I think it was a good pick. There was a woman behind her in like a pastel puffy sleeved Zimmerman dress which would've been cute elsewhere. I think something a little more crisp is necessary for this.

I like it but not for the picnic. For a Congressional picnic I think it should be more patriotic and casual. If the flowers were red and she wore red flats I would like it more.
