"Justice Department officials and representatives of Mr. Trump have held a number of discussions in recent weeks. After the call from Mr. Bratt, who has led the Justice Department’s investigation into Mr. Trump’s handling of the documents, Mr. Trump initially agreed to go along with the advice of one of his lawyers, Christopher M. Kise, who suggested hiring a forensic firm to search for additional documents, according to the people briefed on the matter.
But other lawyers in Mr. Trump’s circle — who have argued for taking a more adversarial posture in dealing with the Justice Department — disagreed with Mr. Kise’s approach. They talked Mr. Trump out of the idea and have encouraged him to maintain an aggressive stance toward the authorities, according to a person familiar with the matter.
It is unclear at which property Mr. Kise wanted a voluntary search by an outside group to be conducted. Along with his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla., Mr. Trump frequently spends time at his club in Bedminster, N.J., and an office in Manhattan."

Under the federal ECF/CM system, a case is initiated by filing electronic copies of the complaint, civil cover sheet and summons(es), among other things. The docket in Trump v. USA reveals that Trump filed his action “conventionally” (as in a hard copy) with the clerk in Ft. Pierce — as opposed to West Palm Beach — where Cannon is the sole sitting judge to whom the proceeding could have been randomly assigned based on the “wheel.” Some federal courts who make a pro se litigant jump through a hoop by obtaining leave from the duty judge in order to file conventionally.

None of which say that Trump is shipping classified super super secret documents to MAL. Speculation. Even the article attached to that was speculation. You can pick out the weasel words easily.
The Washington Post article has his WH staffers saying he NEVER handled Classified material properly. He kept Classified documents in his office to show to people who had no clearance or need to know. He commonly took Classified documents to the residence. The staff completely lost track of sensitive documents and were too afraid to ask for them back.

Not for a while, and almost certainly not until after the election.
These people never deliver.
If they filed charges before the election, Republicans would scream witch hunt and claim DOJ was politically motivated. Waiting until after the election helps insulate against anything but the most batshit accusations.

Why, because it’s silly to think an outgoing president would have them shipped there instead of the pool supply closet in the hotel where he lives?
Generally speaking, someone experienced in flouting the requirements of federal, state and local laws isn’t going to leave a paper trail guaranteeing his own legal jeopardy by sending presidential records — much less classified documents — to a transition office where multiple potential witnesses are working.
We’re not generally speaking though. Generally speaking, someone with clearance wouldn't wave classified documents around in front of reporters. Generally speaking, people pay their lawyers. Generally speaking, people don’t file and lose 60+ lawsuits when they lose an election and still claim victory.
