This is truly astonishing. Every article about Iran for the last 50 years (and probably longer) has highlighted the challenge of th Strait of Hormuz. Every single one.

They really thought Iran would simply take the loss of its leader and decline to retaliate. That's it. They thought this would be another "win" like Venezuela and they could install a puppet leader and move on to destroying Cuba.
