The role of the Jan6ers was to force a delay so the House and Senate would have time to push the key state decisions back to the states, or to get Grassley to accept the "fake elector" slates from those swing states who supplied them. It was a three-pronged plan that, again, had Pence left the Capitol, would have worked.
Do you not believe our country was thisclose to being lost to a dictator?
DP but I certainly do not.
Then you should read up on who was behind the effort, the public plans ahead of time (there were threads in this forum about it in December 2020) and the accounts of how close it actually was.
Or, you can ignore it and keep your head in the sand.
I’ll keep saying it: if Republicans take their head out of the sand and look around, they’re going to feel like morons and they’ll never vote GOP again.
It’s amazing how far they will go to defend a traitor that would gladly let them die in exchange for an extra value meal if given the opportunity.

"The ballots were "mostly" received back via dropbox on Election Day, but weren't included in initial counts of outstanding ballots, according to officials.
Questions have arisen during the counting process amid changing numbers of outstanding and included ballots. In a news release Saturday, a spokesperson for the CBOE explained that while adding up vote-by-mail ballots, he accidentally left out additional ballots that had been delivered by the U.S. Postal Service on Monday.
"I traded speed for accuracy in reporting out numbers this week as quickly as I could," spokesperson Max Bever said in a statement, in part. "I truly regret this error on my part and for the confusion that it has caused the voters of Chicago."
When numbers keep changing and counting goes on for days after an election, people tend to not trust the count. The R attorney general won but Bever stated they forgot about 10K ballots, which of course has been eating away rapidly at the R's lead. My guess is in the end, these forgotten votes will turn the election.
