You don't make this concession on a frivolous lawsuit. There would be no reason to do so. This sentence strongly indicates that Wayfarer felt they had more to lose at trial than Lively did.
This statement doesn’t say what you seem to think it does
It says her concerns deserved to be heard. Which means her concerns were not lies, were not exaggerated or trumped up, were not a manipulation to take over a movie.
It validates her.
Notice the statement doesn't validate any of Baldoni's or Wayfarer's defenses.
Of course it validates her. There is no universe which it doesn't. What does not do: offer a shred of validation for Baldoni or Wayfarer.
There is no apology, or mention of sexual harassment or retaliation. On the other hand, she walked away with zero dollars. I’ve been a litigator for over two decades and have never seen a plaintiff walk away without even a nuisance payment. It’s a huge loss for her.
Clearly you don't understand how celebrity PR works. Her reputation was supported by the statement; his wasn't. That is the most important win she needed. She may be tarnished, but no studio will risk liability with the "challenges" he poses and he has no representation. The manosphere will support him--see this thread--but from a professional perspective he was crushed.
Side note, I don’t know why you continue to insist that only “manosphere” types would be on Justin’s side. I’m a liberal progressive feminist woman. I’m a practicing layer and mother to tweens. And I can’t stand Blake and I think she is an awful person and has done a disservice to women who suffer real harassment.
I was harassed at work and vehemently disagree.
That’s fine, you can certainly disagree. But women are allowed to have their opinions and dislike another woman without being part of the “manosphere”
But the manosphere does support him even if you don't claim to be a part of that group. Separate things.
Dp and I don’t even know what the manosphere is.
I do know that Blake’s case fell apart, and the she walked away with no money instead of presenting what Blake bots insisted was the strongest part of her case.
Weird that Baldoni didn't stick around to win this totally winnable slam dunk case.
You don’t know how a lawsuit works obviously
His name will forever be tarnished and remembered for his part in this. He certainly didn't get to clear his name.
I see the Blake bots are stuck in the denial stage. He got 10 of 13 of her claims dismissed. She chose to walk away from the remainder for zero dollars. No one does that unless their case sucks.
How many of his claims were dismissed again?
It doesn’t matter. He wasn’t the one spreading lies to the NY Times. The fact that her claims were dismissed are what he cares about. His reputation is just fine, she’s the one exposed as a liar.
She didn't lie. The NY Times is substantiated by text messages. Wayfarer acknowledged her concerns deserved to be brought to light.
Oh my god, this. The insanity on this thread is concerning. Though I think there is one extra-strident voice responsible for most of this.
You are right, the Blake bots are totally delusional, and it wouldn’t be surprising if it were only one.
Do you parents know you're out of the basement?
I’m 47 and in my office so I guess they do
Have a very serious job, do you? And an active family/social life in the evenings?
And you are doing what exactly?
I have not made hundreds of posts on this thread, for one.

All they see is a conventionally attractive blonde in a lovely princess dress on a red carpet. It pops up on their feed or their news and they go: "Who's that? Blake Lively. OK".
So this person boosts her profile just by showing up. You might criticize her for various shenanigans, or say she's not that beautiful, or has not landed important roles, but most people aren't that picky, to be honest! She looks fine, and I bet she's more attractive than most of YOU. I have no dog in this fight, I'm a short Asian lady![]()
And since Baldoni doesn't walk red carpets of that magnitude and has no access to that level of exposure... he's not as well known to the general public.
To understand how this plays out, you guys need to step back from your microscopic view and take in the macro of the general public.
But this makes no sense. She sued for $160 million in damages because of bad publicity…. so bad publicity doesn’t matter why would she have sued?
It’s a circular argument. Blake fans want it to be so but it’s just clearly not. You could see in the Sony execs exchange that it matters. As the head of Sony said, and I’m going to take his word over yours since that studio is paying him tons of millions of dollars to know these things, she won’t work again.
What people are missing is that people don’t care if the public turns because it was a smear campaign or it was organic, the point is people don’t like Blake. And that’s exactly why she sued. She wanted get some money back for lost opportunities. These opportunities aren’t coming back.
Ryan made a movie before all this that was supposed to be released in fall of 2025. Because of this whole mess it was postponed to 2026. Because the mess continued on, it’s now been bumped to 2027. Studios don’t do this out of the kindness of their heart. If Ryan could get butts in seats, they would release the movie. They’re hedging their bets that maybe in a year things will blow over and it will be better. Paramount also did not renew a first look development contract with him. These people are not in demand right now. You can argue all you want, but that’s just how it is.

BL and RR chose to pursue this. JB didn’t have a choice to defend. Duh
He could have settled quietly early on. That's what a lot of people do in cases like this. Instead he filed a countersuit with virtually no legal merit.
He didn’t want to settle and pay Blake for her phony balogne claims. Why can’t you understand that? Plus, his fees were bankrolled
Sorowitz is worth over $3 billion. Defending this was definitely worth it. Plus, if you recall back in the beginning, lively accused him of gawking over her at the birthing scene. And remember, we found out he was never even on the premises during that scene?
She is such a moron. But of course someone with 3 billion is going to defend that.

That’s funny because she’s lost over 5 million so I guess that’s nice that she’s gained a few back? But reports show tthat she buys about 20,000or so a week so I’m not convinced these are organic followers.
My post was about Baldoni's followers, not Blake's.

Sure, the manosphere loves him. Like Donald Trump.
Everyone I know who hates her the most is a Kamala voting progressive feminist or gay man. Your radar is really off.
I'm white but I've noticed that Blake is very unpopular with the black community, at least on social media.
I'm a white liberal feminist and can't stand her but yeah, she goes way back with the black community who were more aware of her plantation wedding, slavery fashion, and blackface ways going back 10+ years.
You mean they backed the white male over the pretty white female? I'm shocked. Typical pick me behavior.
