Moms who don't watch their kids- hey you- you're everywhere! At the playground- your kids come up an shove sand as a method to get kids out of the sandbox, moms are not watching and letting their kids become bullies. For sharing- I joined a church group for a music class where TONS of toys would be distributed.. SO - I actually NOW agree- hey- if my kid is playing with some toy- then if some kid grabs it away (indication at this age that they want something- not as verbal) - guide them elsewhere! It';s not like there are not enough toys - it;s a bad signal to do the counting (agree with PP moms- wowa) , and teach your child YOU CAN'T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT.. more than sharing- you wait- or find an alternative- go rolling stones

I'm the mom that posted the onesie question. Sorry it bothered you so much. And I was very interested to learn that other families can manage in smaller homes. I skipped the outfit post, but only because it did not apply to me. It really wasn't that hard for me to ignore it. You clearly haven't mastered that talent yet.

You guys are too funny. I live in "North Bethesda" and tell people this when asked, mostly b/c I'm pissed at paying the extra $$$ for the stupid zip code. Hey, if they charge me the same house price in Rockville as in "North Bethesda" then I'd be more than happy to say Rockville.

North Bethesda homes are about $100,000 less than in real Bethesda.

And that's why it's "North Bethesda" and not Bethesda. "North Bethesda" homes are also more than Rockville homes.

I think Bethesda is DC-lite for paretns with kids. It's close to the city with better services, lower density. "North" Bethesda is for those who cannot afford Bethesda but wish they could. I think one of the reasons people are racking up credit card debt is to keep up with the wealthy Joneses.

There are many ways to engage, stimulate, and help your childer be "smarter" All moms don't do all things but many do some or many. If someone wants to BF when kids are older and the research does seem to support their assertions that it increases IQ, then good for them. No need to feel it is a dig on you for not doing it and no need to discount the valid reason the mom had for doing it just because you didn't. I didn't do it but that doesn't mean that another mom who does it to boost IQ is wrong. I don't do organics either but that doesn't mean it really is not healthier just because I don't want to spend extra $$$.

One of my pet peeves is all the defensiveness about natural childbirth and breastfeeding. More power to women who do this and its quite sad when others constantly put them down. Let them be proud, great job, and those with a chip on their shoulder about it stop feeling so guilty or ticked off for whatever reason.

The whole attitude toward BF in public is annoying. People who find it sexual or inappropriate are creepy in IMO. Public places are owned by all you shouldn't feel uncomfortable about feeding your kid because someone else has a weird complex.

IF you want to breastfeed a child old enough to verbally ask for it fine. But don't say it's because it makes them smarter. It's actually the caring and attention a mother who is willing to do this also gives in other areas. It she is around enough to provide a drink for her child, she is most likely around to converse and attend to her mentally developing child. Many moms who choose not to breastfeed for personal and medical reasons are still engaging them mentally.

Ditto on the North Potomac thing. I'm not a fan of Potomac and have no desire to be associated with living in Potomac..too flashy. I like living in North Potomac the neighborhoods have good schools, lots of close by park and green areas, big lots, mostly residential no sprawl, nice houses and very few crazy, tacky McMansions. Being from DC, we thought it was Gaithersburg but every time we called for pizza, made a service order, or got mail it read it North Potomac so we just go with North Potomac. Most people out here know there is a big difference between North Potomac and Potomac.
