If you're talking about Frisch, Shrevewood is overcrowded and other elementary schools that feed into the same MS/HS (Kilmer/Marshall) had capacity. He could have arranged for immediate relief at Shrevewood starting this fall by moving part of Shrevewood to Stenwood, and part of Stenwood to Freedom Hill. The Dunn Loring site was one of two former elementary schools (the other being Pimmit Hills) that FCPS had suggested might be repurposed in a decade or so.
Instead, Frisch took money earmarked for a new elementary school in Oakton at Blake Lane Park and got the others on the School Board to agree it could be used to accelerate the renovation of Dunn Loring. So the Shrevewood families will have to wait years for overcrowding relief, and more families - especially those now at Stenwood - will end up redistricted than would have otherwise been necessary to address the overcrowding at Shrevewood. Why do this? Because a few dozen active Democrats, many without children, wanted Blake Lane Park to remain a dog park, not a school site.
It's obscene that he prioritized his friends over his constituents, and what's even worse is that other School Board members have done things just as bone-headed. He did get a few Shrevewood parents to support his scheme, which involved the rest of the School Board closing their eyes and pretending that money dedicated to building a new school in "Fairfax/Oakton" could just as readily be used to renovate a school over five miles away in Dunn Loring, but one suspects that their enthusiasm will wane once they realize how long it's going to take to renovate Dunn Loring and adjust the boundaries at multiple schools in their pyramid.
This is the same BS that flip-flop Tholen played with the MHS-LHS boundary issue. Why do we let these people keep jerking our kids around?

Haha. Sensitive?

DP. I read that and was incredulous that he saw fit to blame the these recalls on “demographic anxiety.” WTF? This SB shuttered our schools for a year and parents (of all “demographics,” btw) are rightfully furious. What does that have to do with “demographic anxiety”? Where do these loons come up with their idiotic catchphrases?

+1.
It's interesting that Meren is now doubling down on social media by proclaiming the importance of young people experiencing "guilt" during their education (presumably, for the sins of their forebears).
It takes a special brand of cluelessness to encourage teachers to make students feel "guilt," while expressing no "shame" for her own conduct in paying for a private learning "pod" for her children while she kept schools shuttered for others.
She and Tholen are the two biggest hypocrites on the Board. Once Tholen's recall goes to court, recalling Meren should also be a priority.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:It’s the hypocrisy that will be the undoing of these clowns. You also have Tholen claiming to support equity and then cherry-picking only expensive SFHs to move to Langley and Sizemore-Heizer claiming everyone needed to hunker down last year but then posing pictures of her family’s vacation to Florida. Along with Meren’s pod, Frisch’s dog park, Omeish’s traffic violations and exhortations to jihad, Keys Gamarra’s vanity project to open a new “social justice” academy at Lewis, and Corbett Sanders’ $50M boondoggle at West Potomac, these folks can’t stop embarrassing themselves.
Best summary I’ve seen! And brutal. These hypocritical, sanctimonious twits have to go.
