What day do you think?

college confidential seems to think Fridays are normal for Michigan decisions but who knows. I think they committed to "the end of January" so technically have until Sunday!

Hoping for Carolina Friday but Sunday is the day according to the admissions website. I believe Michigan will be Friday due to historical data.

PP: Kid had 35 ACT 800/800/800 SAT IIs (RIP) for Richmond

I think so. Last year, Elon called my kid the first week of August to offer them a spot off the wait list. B student and full pay.

Nice! WL admits are easier to predict as the CDS publishes those annual numbers (though at many places the number swings wildly year to year). Unfortunately I don’t think any colleges publish deferred-then-accepted numbers.

My kid is in the same boat. The stress these kids are feeling is really too much.

I don't even know what to expect when I read about these increases in applications.

On on hand, I assume many applications were just tossed in there (maybe a "why the hell not" approach given test optional, etc.). But, even if those applicant's don't have a realistic chance, the admissions team still has to review all of those applications. I worry that there won't be enough bandwidth to thoroughly review all applications. K

Last year there were too many deferrals, and colleges wanted the money, so they accepted the bottom of the barrel. Ask anyone actually in the know and willing to admit to it.
