It's so hard to generalize from one game, let alone 1-2 teams. I saw one team that played a little cynically and one team that played with some flair. Both had terrific team spirit.

Then agreed, sometimes players do play down on a lower tier team. Sometimes it’s for number of kids available, sometimes it’s because it’s a continuing evaluation of where they’re at and what level should they be. Nothing wrong with it.
You all make alot of excuses.

Anonymous wrote:"We went to a less popular club nearby and my kids development improved so much more than the years spent on second teams at SYC. There is no technical development...and the kids who are developing are paying for extra sessions on the side with a private coach. This other club focuses on technical thereby not needing to pay for extra sessions."
Can you name the club? I am wondering if it is the other one we are looking at. I am guessing it is - they are not big, but do a pretty good job with development.

Anonymous wrote:SYC does not have a great culture. I know they have players playing down an age group to get the W. I know because my son was asked to do so on a few occasions. When I asked, I was told it’s ok and no one cares. We felt very uncomfortable but I don’t know the rules that well.

Doesn't matter the reason. Its still cheating to play kids down.
No one is playing kids down. Occasionally kids that are playing up make an appearance with their own age.
