We are going to Phase 1. Pretty much everything Hogan is allowing.

Retail is curb side only. Manicurists are not. What a messy press conference.

Explain to me how Hogan’s team is screwing this up.

What happened to those 500,000 tests?

DP. I’m wondering this too. Weren’t they still short on something- swabs? I can’t remember.

Overall I think Hogan has done a decent job but as things started to get a bit harder and nuanced, he’s not willing to make those decisions and abdicating to local leaders that have varying degrees of expertise and resources. Although the he-said/he-said back and forth makes it know how exactly this went down.

The positivity rate is going down because we are using those tests. Why do you think we aren’t using them?

What makes you think we are using them?

What other tests would we be using?!

Coronavirus.maryland.gov now shows a graph with 7-day rolling averages for test positivity and test volume.

Statewide, we are at 12% positivity, which is a HUGE improvement. For today, we had an 8% positivity rate. The CDC recommends 10% in an environment of increased testing as a benchmark for significant loosening of restrictions, so we are VERY close to that.

That's circular logic.

No it’s not. These are the tests we have. Therefore, since we are doing tests, we have to be using those tests. Unless you’re aware of some other supply of tests we are using?

Not PP, but what tests were being used in the state of MD before the additional 500k was procured?

I also read some counties were buying their own tests.

We were barely doing any tests; that’s why Hogan pushed to get the ones from South Korea.

I don’t get why you’re all struggling with this so much.

I think there’s a lot of confusion- not just among laypeople but local lawmakers as well. This article was helpful to me.

I wish the protesters would shut up so we could hear the press conference. Why did they decide to hold this outside? Foolish.

same here. This is my neighborhood. I am so disgusted by these losers.

I can't get the video to play. What did he say?

i'm disgusted by the people screaming "FREEDOM OF RELIGION!" and "the constitution has no phases" over him when he's trying to talk. Whether you think Elrich is a dweeb or not (I do), these people are acting crazy.

They should've known better and held this press conference virtually or in a different place. Now all the crazies have descended on us.

Basically, entering Phase 1 as of 6a on Monday. Might be slightly more restrictive than Phase 1 overall - retail is curbside only, which I'm not sure is true of the rest of the state.

Phase one starts June first.
