They are probably going to try the "plausible deniability" angle. If I were an investigator I'd be looking at the accountants too.
Where have you been? The letter firing Trump as a client was page 525000 of the papers the accounting firm has provided the NY AG. Of course they are being investigated and apparently they are cooperating. It’s ironic that Trump pal Giuliani pioneered the art of the RICO prosecution outside of the Mafia and it looks like it’s being done here. NY state has state laws that parallel federal RICO laws. In a continuing criminal enterprise, statutes of limitations are not as strict. If Trump did something ten years ago to further his criminal enterprise, pile it on. He should be terrified.
This idiot's Big mistake was running for POTUS- enter the ring of non-stop scrutiny of every aspect of your financial past- not just your personal one.
And to think, if he'd just been satisfied with being a reality TV Freak show he'd have been fine
Truth is, as bad as Trump is, there are hundreds of " businessmen, lawyers and accountants JUST LIKE HIM operating in every city in this country every day

Seriously?
High-powered Republicans and their donors. Because they have a vested interest in the American public not knowing how dirty they play.
+1 I’m convinced that this is how Eric Schneiderman got exposed. I’m not sorry he’s gone because he was a POS, and it didn’t end up affecting the state investigation because Barbara Underwood and now Tish James have been great, but I think the intent was “bury the AG and the investigation will go away.”
The more women we elect to high offices the better the country would be, JMO. It almost seems from the numbers (numbers could be misleading due to the small #s of women being in the power of influence and hence vetted with much stricter rules) women political leaders are more scrupulous.
