Yuck.

You really do not understand this issue, do you? This has absolutely nothing to do with the schools. Nothing. She does not wish for law enforcement to cooperate with ICE. Nothing to do with schools at all.

ICE is going to do what ICE is going to do. It doesn’t mean a local school system has to be their agents.
They are not asking for cooperation from the School Board to "be their agents." They are asking for cooperation from law enforcement.
Tholen does not want law enforcement to assist. Big difference.
You may not understand the concept of agency. In any event, it's a matter of semantics.
It undermines the role of public schools in educating students for school officials to act or be perceived as acting on behalf of or "in cooperation with" ICE. I'm sure being pro-ICE enhances Anastasia's (and Michael's) standing with some of their Republican pals, but Elaine took the correct stance.
No one is asking SB members to be agents for ICE. Her pledge was related to law enforcement. She did not have to sign it. It has nothing to do with the schools. It just shows where her interests are.

Here is the link to Tholen's pledge.

So, work done prior to running for office shouldn't be on someone's resume? And, Struass has always held herself out as a bleeding heart liberal--meanwhile sending her own kids to McLean schools.
