Also doesn't mean that kids of athletic parents don't sometimes want to build robots or play video games or the trumpet and not do sports. It's more about lifestyle and expectations. The world is full of wanna be parents who weren't athletic or didn't work hard or succeed easily in athletics who now want to live vicariously through their kids. I agree with the PP that those kids will indeed excel early because of the relentless practice schedule, but may be caught by others when they are older. And/or just be tired of it and lose their love of the game.

The picture of Abby's parents in their 40s doesn't show you that she is going to be successful. But it also doesn't predict that she would NOT be. Some pictures of youth prodigies and their parents would suggest likely success. Others would not. (Not referencing the Spirit girl here -- don't know her.)

Spirit girls mom was an athlete. She holds track and field records according to her Twitter feed.

I wonder how many of these posts are from her.

Her kid really has you worried. Lol

The mom has me worried.

Please point to the obvious traits the parents have in that picture that made Abby a HOF soccer player.

You started it by posting the recent pic and stating that Abby's mom at age 70+ looked normal for a NT player. Normal for 70 but not 45. Try finding some pics of obese parents of current NT players.

You claim that you can predict the athleticism of a kid based on the parents. So please point to the specific traits that you see in her parents that would clue you in to Abby's HOF career.

I'm waiting.

Got it. You are personally offended, I get it. Like I said before, you started it with the pictures and I am keeping it real by calling BS on your pic of a senior citizen claiming that is normal for a YNT parent. I never said anything about HOF, that again was all you. I said that if a kid is athletic, the parents probably are too. It’s not rocket science. You don’t need me to describe what an athlete looks like do you?

So you can’t really point to anything specific. This is your claim so back it up.

I have no idea but do you think every parent at 45 looks like they did when they were 20?

It is a stupid point that how an adult looks at 45-55 years old is any indicator or is predictive of how athletic a kid is going to be.

The only thing you could speculate based on the parents is height and how an 11 year old might look like when they are 50.

Genes play a major factor. The parents of YNT players are likely to be athletes. At the time the kid is a youth player they may not look like they did at 20 but probably look more like Abby's parents at 45 than at 70. Let's face it, if Mom and Dad are in terrible shape at 45 your kid is not an elite athlete. No amount of training will make a difference.

LOL. So you pick a picture of the mom of a 38 year old retired soccer player as a comparison. Yeah hopefully you currently look better than the senior citizen...
