FSIQ :139, 99.5%
GAI : 144, 99.8%
VCI : 146, 99.9%
VSI : 132, 98%
FRI : 137, 99%
WMI : 112, 79%
PSI : 108, 70%
Because he has low score on NNAT and Cogat, both are 123 and low GBRS, which is 8.
I would like to know that if my DS will be rejected this year, what can I do? I wanted to prepare the worst, thanks!
You can do a parent referral in the Spring of 2018 for admission in the 2018-19 school year. They'll do a new GBRS at that time. You can also request one test retake - most people recommend doing it for the CogAT. You'd have to request it this fall so the school adds him to the testing schedule. You'll also have the opportunity to do a new parent questionnaire and submit new work samples. Have you explored the gap among the subscores on the WISC? Seems like there may be some 2e stuff going on.

Thanks for the feedback. based on the feedbacks, i dont think i can attach wisc score to appeal or even appeal. may be my DD can try out next year.
But please note that this doesnt make my DD less smart:
1) She repeats any songs after she listens to it for 2 times
2) Recently won a math olympiad prize
3) also a gifted chess player

Verbal Comprehension 113 ==> 81 percentile = High average
Visual spatial index 102 ==> 55 percentile = average
Fluid Reasoning Index 112 ==> 79 percentile = High average
Working Memory index 117 ==> 87 percentile = High average
processing speed ==> 116 ==> 86 percentile = High average
Please advise if GT appeal works.
Those are average scores especially for an FCPS classroom. Many children in general ed are much brighter.
STOP - YOU TROLL. The average FCPS student hasn't taken the WISC and the brightest kids.... they come to the surface after 3rd grade.
You don't think most FCPS kids have IQs in the low 100s? Average is 90-110 range. If they tested every kid, pp's kid would be smack in the middle.

Your DS FSIQ score is exactly the same as my Son FSIQ Score. We had appealed the file yesterday. My Son GBRS is 6.
But his lLast year COGAT is 134. We are thinking that they will select with FSIQ 139. It is good Score. Lets see. Fingers Crossed. If they are rejected then , Only Option I have is to prepare her for COGAT again this year. Which grade is your DS?

Can you please elaborate on the pros and cons of using the base school vs. the center?
Do all the kids that go to the base school level iv have to be admitted by the ap committee?
I would appreciate any info on this.
My son got into AAP last school year and went to the center school. I felt we made the wrong decision sending him there because his teacher was indifferent to him. She would send me emails telling me he does not submit his work on time...always like that. The teacher even jumped the gun on one occasion saying my so
n made an inappropriate comment in one of the group project in their computer lab but it turned out he was not the one who did it (investigated by an IT person). To make up for that mistaken identity fiasco, the teacher volunteered to help my son in one of the subject that he was having difficulty. Not only that, my son felt the teacher was picking on him. Probably this AAP center school experience depends on the teacher, but we will see till the next school year in 5th grade.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:GBRS 6 is very low. What did the teacher say?
Teacher said that he is very shy in class . We totally understand because she is new to school and takes time to adjust. But she also said that she does well and was able to work on the new concepts very easily even though she went for vacation. But still, I do not understand how she gave the GBRS 6.
That is the reason , I went for WISC.

We got our son WISC results.
FSIQ- 139
VCI - 133
VSI - 126
FRI - 144
WMI - 112
PSI - 126

FSIQ - 139

Last year COGAT - 134.
This year COGAT - 119.
GBRS - 6
He got less in COGAT this year because we have moved to new county and he is depressed that he lost all his friends.
So, we are planning to submit with new WISC V results and last year COGAT results.
Will he be in AAP ? Any idea ?
Why was he rejected last year?
His (3RD GRADE) COGAT score was 119. and GBRS was 6. But now, I am planning to submit with new WISC score (FSIQ 139) , 2nd grade LOudoun county COGAT results - 134. and certificates and recommendation letters. Also, I am planning to write a letter on my son that his COGAT exam was conducted exactly the same month which we moved to the fairfax county from loudoun county. The transition time to adjust was so long and he could not do well for the COGAT exam that was conducted in fairfax. Not sure , If he will be in
