I guess she's simply too old to learn to speak in an intelligible English accent (intelligible to the majority of Anglophones, that is) - and her husband too big a cheese in the BBC "Amewwica" to get rid of her as anchor (though, granted, she is a good journalist). Btw: I am a foreigner and my mother tongue is not English. Nebertheless, I do understand most English accents (Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Lancastrian, etc., as well as Australian, Canadian and US accents. But, try as I may, yours eludes and irks me!
