Another parent who knows nothing about lacrosse. SSSAS has a good team this year. Landon has a much weaker team than last year, but they were not "lucky" to beat them in the regular season.

The best two IAC teams will play in the championship game, which is great. Bullis has a stacked team this year.

It is local (no hotel and no travel) and that is more coaches than you get in one place than almost any other event. Also this year they have divided the UA team into two divisions: rising 9-10; and rising 11-12. Yes, more money for them from kids who make the teams, but that means there will be a lot of kids your son's age trying out this year.

Thanks for your thoughts...

I agree, let him play in the Under Armour tryouts. It will be fun. He will be around kids like himself who love lacrosse. It will be a good view into the world of showcases and he will know what to expect when he goes to real showcases.

Unless your kid plays for Landon, Prep, Gonzaga or PVI and his coach can politic him into the pre-write of the roster, it's a $175 t-shirt. It is the most corrupt money grab thing on earth and a waste of time. Your kid will play 5 mins or so as one of 5 kids at his position in 6 or so 20 minute running half games and that's it unless you paid the pipers to steer your kid on.

He will be a freshman at one of these schools. Is it best to wait until after his freshman year?

Yes.

For boys, NE Top 150 and Good to Great are both solid NESCAC camps.
