I remain gutted that Isobel did not marry Dr Clarkson
Otherwise it was a perfectly wrapped up ending.
We saw the butt of the ill-fated, poorly named Isis wiggle across our screens for the ladt time, but we will always have Downton.

But I'm happy with the confectionary ending, and SO happy Edith gets a happy ending. I teared up at the scene with Isobel and Lord M when he said, "I would have like to have married you."
Is Tom in love with Henry or what??!

Same here! I was so worried that Fellows was going to kill a major character off (e.g. Robert or Violet) so I was kind of glad to have a light-hearted, happy finale, even if it was a bit too tidy/predictable.
I love Isobel and Lord Merten together.
I was pretty sure Robert was a goner when he and Cora were saying "life is great. what could possibly happen?!" And it looked like there were still 30 min (on dvr). But then the show was over and there was just pbs fund raising. Phew!

Same here! I was so worried that Fellows was going to kill a major character off (e.g. Robert or Violet) so I was kind of glad to have a light-hearted, happy finale, even if it was a bit too tidy/predictable.

I loved the final episode, they kind of wrapped everything up and people made peace with themselves and others. I'm going to miss Downton.
