That's awesome op! I thought of this thread just recently. My mom visited us and she's the opposite. She cooks too much. I had to get rid of excess food

Great to hear! What are the biggest changes you have made? What are your lessons learned?

My friend with teenage boys cooked a turkey last weekend to make sure there was enough food. That seems like a good idea.

I wish the op of this thread would start an AMA. I usually find AMA threads to be annoying and self absorbed, but I was so interested in this OP for some reason lol. Any updates with having the kids home from school all summer, op?

It's like it's even better the second time around! I feel extra victorious because I made calamari and the kids loved it. They are usually weird about "strange things".

That is awesome op! I love it when I can get my ds to try different things too. He's 9 and will at least try almost anything. I'm not very adventurous, but dh is from a different country, so he gets to try stuff that I'd never think of eating bc of dh. I have gotten him to try lots of different fruits and vegetables though.

I agree, i missed this thread when it wasn't at the top for a few days. I got inspiration for what to cook from op telling what she was making a few times! The dinner you just posted sounds really good too.

Thanks pp! I like to cook across lots of varying cultures. I make dishes from around the world and my own culture so that it varies

OP, I have to admit that your dinners always sound really good- regardless of portion size.

What's for dinner tonight!?!

Okay thanks for the advice! Tonight's dinner is going to be falafel, beef kabob, salad and rice.

I think of 3 oz as being a serving of fish, but if it is good I'd expect people to want seconds.
