Polo Fields is closer to McNair, but also adjacent to Floris. Were it in Floris, they'd probably send the buses up Monroe.
I don’t think it’s necessary to move Polo Fields families to Skyview. South Lakes will be losing Floris and Fox Mill kids anyway.
Why create a new split feeder and further empty out South Lakes?
Skyview needs kids from somewhere. Its enrollment will be lower than both South Lakes and Westfield.

I think the consultants did it because of the “freeze the walkers” mandate.
Oak Hill families within walking distance of Franklin would stay at Franklin Middle and Chantilly High, while other Oak Hill students would go to Carson Middle and Skyview High.
They should make an exception for Oak Hill so all students can go to Carson and Skyview.

Shouldn’t we be then pulling Crossfield out of Oakton to go to Skyview?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:You know what Crossfield?
Just stay at Oakton.
Skyview doesn’t need you if you’re going to complain like Karen’s all because Skyview doesn’t have a shiny football stadium.
This whole thing has been so tense and poorly planned.
What part of modify the building and add athletic fields before conducting yet another boundary study does FCPS not understand?
Like literally.
And you people have made it worse that now the Western part of Franklin farm could be split up and you’re elementary school can be cut up too.
Also, why does modified scenario 2 include a part of Dogwood nobody asked for.
The elementary schools that should be at Skyview are.
Coates
Floris
Fox Mill
McNair
Oak Hill
And the proposed Silver Line ES that may or may not be needed depending on all of these developments happening near Coates and the yields of students near the proposed site.
But Crossfield, you’ve made it clear, so buzz all the way off!
I don't know what's wrong with you, but it's stupid to blame an entire school for a vocal subset of the community at that school.

Walney Oaks is 2.7 miles from Westfield and 2.7 miles to Westfield.
One neighborhood is affluent. The neighborhood directly across Walney Rd from them is moving to Westfield.
One neighborhood is not affluent. It is much closer to Chantilly and kids can walk from after school activities.
Which one makes the most sense?
Did you mean to say Walney Oaks is 2.7 miles from Chantilly?
Intersection of Eagle Chase Rd and Walney: 2.1 to Chantilly; 2.6 to Westfield. .5 miles farther to Westfield
Chantilly Lace Court: 1.4 to Chantilly; 3.5 to Westfield 2.1 miles farther and lots longer in time.

People will claim the future enrollment will be large enough to sustain courses and activities, and they’ll under-estimate how quickly the enrollment will drop and the FARMS rate will spike. The only difference is that it will happen in a newer, larger building designed for more kids.
What’s the line about how the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? It is FCPS’s specialty.
