Think you are wrong. Trump has 3 1/2 years to replace senior leadership of the US military with loyalists. He wants to use the insurrection act and deploy troops to kill his opponents. Republicans have already changed ROE(basically there are none - Venezuelan fishing boats). Now they just have to get loyalists like general Michael Flynn in place. Hegseth’s speech all about violence, killing and oppression. Lose ROE did not help the Germans, Japanese, Israelis, etc.

Trump wants cities like Portland, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Pittsburgh, etc to burn like Gaza. Why else make a statement saying the US military will use US blue cities as training grounds? Could you imagine in a Democracy had said that?

There is no other way of interpreting this.

It is really weird how focused on appearance and loyalty to Trump Hegseth is. He wants toy soldiers. Toy soldiers looks good on the parade ground.

There is a revolution in combat operations going on in the Ukraine-Russian war. Only a few US special operations units are training up the current state of drone warfare. There is no wide spread training taking place on how to prepare for drone warfare.

The drones have created a 20-30 miles buffer zone around the frontlines. Its just a no man’s land where vehicles and soldiers cannot operate. Ukrainians sunk 1/3 of the Russian navy with basically remote control jet skis.

I won't go that far, but I agree with your general opinion. A lot of the audience had never met Pete or Donald in person. Today was a golden opportunity for these influential and intelligent leaders to confirm what they already suspected... to wit, that these are two pathetic people. It's quite different to suspect than it is to see the train wreck in person. Makes a heck of a lot more of an impact!

I am comforted that the military leadership will probably be very cautious in implementing orders from these people from now on.

Exactly. And deploy the military to cities to do what? Pickup trash and play glorified mall cop? That would be deeply unpopular in the military.

There is nothing in the statement from the US attorney for DC talking about legal or registered shotguns or rifles. It just say the US attorney will not bring charges. Though they do leave an opening to charge if agents make up some charge.

They will still take your weapon at security checkpoints. Taking guns(registered or not) and demanding proof of citizenship are all they are doing at security checkpoints in DC. 222 guns were seized at checkpoints.

Hey why don’t you go down to the mall and walk around with a shotgun or rifle. You know to test the 2nd amendment. Tell us how it goes!

I think it means the "height AND weight" standards --- meaning you have a certain weight standard based on your height. They are not expecting people to grow taller, or suspicious that people are shrinking out of normal height.

There is a way around that. Been using it for years. Tape test. When I worked in a DOD office, the fittest guy there failed the height/weight because he was so much muscle. There is some measurement they use. (This was before the Army went "woke.") He passed and that will be the same here, I'm sure.

Wow did not realize the tape test(1986) went back to July 26, 1948. You know before the Army was “woke”.

The tape test is an attempt to measure fat percentage if you exceed the height and weight requirements. Depending on age and gender 20-26% fat percentages for males and 30-36% for females.

Soldiers can be exempted from the tape test if they score 540 with a minimum of 80 points in each event on the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT).

It is not a muscle or fitness test.
