the whole IAC is falling apart, the member schools aren't aligned with the direction of the league.

Prep has outgrown the IAC and with its recent push to be more of a boarding school, it will either join the WCAC or go independent.

Saint Stephens is better suited for the MAC. The Saints are the smallest school in the IAC in terms of enrollment and its athletics overall are rather weak.

Episcopal can join the Virginia Independent League which is comprised of day and boarding schools (FUMA, Woodberry Forest, Norfolk Academy, St Chris, Collegiate, Blue Ridge, STAB, Cape Henry, Trinity Episcopal)

Landon, Bullis and STA are in a weird situation and might be homeless if the league truly does fall apart. Maybe these schools join the MIAA A or B division in the next couple of years, time will tell.

Hi Prep Homer… McDonogh has a lot more money than Georgetown Prep. Go compare endowments.

And with the decline of lacrosse in the IAC and the coming dissolution of the IAC, it makes even less sense. The AD position along with the movement from a regional school to a national school is the only thing making sense.

How does that help a 54 year old career lax guy? The MIAA is a way better lax conference and is recognized as such nationally. It's the best all around conference in Baltimore and is easily better than the IAC overall. BTW - he won't be given a house, he will be given a house to live in rent free. The Athletic Director position makes a little sense since Paro is in his mid 60's and doesn't want to keep up with the new recruiting era.

The teams we played were doing the exact same thing. This was meant to be an apples to apples data point. The varsity players didn’t play in games where varsity had game same day, which happened a number of times. The same as the team we were playing.

Not true. Varsity players do not ever play for JV at Landon. You’re either on varsity or JV - no one swings.

A more active, more attractive GP program is not good news for SJC or GZA. These three school frequently compete for the same students and occasionally for the same athletes. It doesn’t make any sense for Prep to bring in high quality coach like this and then not give him the things he needs (Admissions, FA, Assistants, travel $$, etc) to be successful.

This doesn’t look like an attempt by Prep to be merely competitive in lacrosse. They could have found a coach at a smaller school or a college assistant.

Instead they krecruited and hired an established and highly successful coach from what is arguably the best conference in America.

This isn’t what you do when your goal is to be competitive. This is what you do when you want to be dominant.

And why would AH take the job unless he saw an opportunity beyond what he has today to create a top US program?

I don’t know how you can read this any other way. Especially if you know the history of athletics and lacrosse at Prep. This isn’t a half measure. This is a radical escalation.

Housing stipend is huge for the DC area.

This is a very splashy hire for Prep.

True. There are nice apartments on campus. They have also given staff places in condos adjacent to the campus. Not as grand as a 4 or 5 bedroom house on Golf Lane, but pretty nice. And equivalent to another $30k or more in salary.
