I can’t believe the stupidity of small businesses and non fed people, they didn’t bother to think that if their clients lose jobs then they lose business, but here we are. I have a couple of relatives in Baltimore who voted for Trump and their business sales are in the dump. I have zero sympathy.

Btw, I am not a Fed but I have 2 brain cells to figure out that pretty much everything in DC is tied to the Federal government.

You seem to be suggesting that people in America should vote for what's best for the people in the DC metro area? Why would someone in Illinois vote so that DC area workers are employed by the government?

Do you not realize that most government employees do not live here??

You people are stunningly uninformed.

At this point I’m not convinced these folks even know that 85 is greater than 15.

They really have.

600 federal workers are set to be fired at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. A state which elected Trump by a very wide margin, think that Musky wasn't going to come for them too.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/possible-tinker-air-force-layoffs-203353341.html

Musky thinks everyone who works for the federal government, receive Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security is a "parasite."

I wonder if, when they take away her food stamps. Medicaid coverage and the Section 8 voucher, she is going to finally wake up and turn against Trump and republicans. My bet is no, she will rant that there is no money for people like her because illegal immigrants are getting white glove free healthcare, luxury housing, or Zelenski stole trilions, or the Biden crime family and so on.

You do know this happens in the private sector all the time. I honestly don’t understand the sense of entitlement to a job

This is NOT how you fire people in the private sector. If this is your experience, you've only worked at McDonald's.

Correct. I have been RIF'd twice. Received 2 months severance the first time and 4 months the second time and I was not a high-ranking employee by any means.

And its not done via social media. I've only been RIFed once but it sucks and it takes a huge toll on your mental health no matter how much time you have to prepare. I was taken by complete surprise and experienced terrible depression (for the first time in my life). But I can tell you that my prior company at least performed a mass RIF with dignity. Each person was told individually, was given access to resources and they provided a great severance. I'm not saying that all companies work like that, and there are many issues with my prior employer, but I give them credit for treating us with respect. THIS is the issue with what the government, no, Elon Musk is doing.

Canadians not going to Florida for a winter break.

"Clavet, who is a Trump supporter in the state hosting his Mar-a-Lago resort, is perplexed that anyone would cancel their booking over some bluster from the 47th president. "

Suck it farmers. The data indicates that the climate is changing and that goes against what this administration would like you to believe so you can kiss that data to goodbye.

If that means you have to kiss some of your cops goodbye then too bad. That is the price of suppressing any truth that the data might reveal.

except for companies run by idiots like Musk, the vast majority of companies value their workers and know how much is lost when they have to train new employees

Man! You're so painfully naive , it's vlbey8nd stupid. Who are these vast majorities of companies that value their employees you're referring to ? Is there any data point to back up your demonstrably false and idiotic claim?

I suspect what you really can’t grasp is public service and the concept that running a government is not at all like running a business.

Which still doesn’t entitle you to lifetime employment
