It's really weird and obsessive to be anonymously discussing club swim coaches like this. I get that people have an axe to grind with Tom or Bruce or whatever, but this thread is really gross.

Some of you should re-examine your own parasocial relationship with the local swim scene when you are turning a swim club for kids into a pseudo reality show to gossip about.

Kids are reading this thread and watching grown adults tear apart coaches — whether they’ve been terminated or are still on the team. Setting everything else aside, please stop. Parents, Tom, Spencer… everyone. These athletes are paying attention, and regardless of where people stand, adults should be setting a better example.

Getting rid of Phil makes zero sense as well, believe me

+1, this to me is the biggest head scratcher. The current Gold 1 group at MU is one of the club’s best, and most of those swimmers were coached by Jake in Silver 1 before moving to Gold 1.

Tom is thinking about his own transition and setting the team up for the long haul. Jeremy Linn is very much part of the future of the club.

Based on the sites they were at this past season, as long as you have the slightest ability to understand context clues you can figure this out on your own…

At least for the more recent posts, it boils down to this:

1) Phil Kominski and Jeremy Cochran are out at Prep, and the Bucknell coach is being brought in (likely to eventually take over from Bruce Gemmell)

2) Jake Ball is out at Marymount/Tysons

Other than that, you’re basically just skipping pages of nasty comments and speculation about why these decisions were made, which no one actually knows.

Thank you so much!
