This. I am shocked how many SPED teachers are still needed at our highly sought after Reston school-yikes is right.
I’m a substitute and we receive emails from the sub office requesting long term subs. Some days they send out about a dozen and most of them are for some type of special education position.

FCPS and gatehouse doesn't care.
FCPS sought a 6% increase in salary to put its teacher compensation in line with the surrounding counties, but, in part because residents balked at the proposed property tax increase, and voted down previously proposed meal taxes, FCPS teachers ended up with a 4%. So. FCPS teachers remain among the worst compensated teachers in the DC metro area. Plenty of teachers are applying for jobs in the area…. in other school districts.
