Wow. Surprise. Another New Yorker.

Deplorables come from every part of the nation, but it is true that their current orange rapist leader is from NYC.

Yep. Trump. Fitton. Giuliani. Cuomo. Spitzer. Weiner. Quite a group.

And it's state court. No corrupt SCOTUS to bail his orange a$$ out.

It all stems from the same root cause, an inability or outright refusal to examine the facts and evidence out of a fear it will contradict your worldview.

Trump is not a criminal despite decades of incontrovertible evidence to the contrary? No problem, I feel like Trump is our savior therefore he is.

Biden/Hillary/Obama is a criminal despite literally zero evidence whatsoever including thousands of man-hours wasted on sham "investigations?" No problem, I feel like they're crooked therefore they are.

The worst part is that there's literally no cure. As Mark Twain said, "you can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into." The best we can hope for is that they'll lose interest and shift their delusions to something less damaging to the nation.

Totally stealing this expression.

So you are saying the Republican governor of Georgia is lying?

So here’s a question. I’m sure they will release trump following his arraignment. He’s not realistically a flight risk. But what about the other characters like Guiliani, Eastman, Clark, Meadows, and Ellis? Anyone know what GA bail practices are?

Me as well. I hope he acts as his own attorney. While, of course, giving Trump valuable legal advice.

Friday, August 25. They have almost two weeks to surrender.

Trump is in a permanent cold sweat and don't be surprised if, on Aug. 25, he doesn't show up because he is seeking political asylum in Dubai.

While I would prefer to see him have to sit his butt in the courtroom(s) for all of his multiple trials and, ultimately, have to live out the rest of his life in prison, him fleeing in absolute cowardice would be a nice treat, too, if only for the joy of watching his equally cowardly followers explain how that action would be an action of strength.

And you know what's sad? Even if he were hiding under an assumed name in Moscow, he'd still win the R primary. And he'd have essentially a 50/50 chance of winning the general.

I am generally an optimist but the R party's descent into madness, and so many millions of Americans joyfully joining along for the ride, has really challenged that.
