He's like a mob boss who get's beaten up and then comes back with a tire iron in hand, get's beaten up again and then comes back with a gun.. it's the way he is. And the people around him think he's cool and strong that way. It's not going to change overnight.
It's time to take Russia seriously, as a very dangerous, unstable, threatening power.
Fine let me be perfectly frank. Give this mob boss (sounds like too kind a descriptor of Putin) the Russian speaking east and be done with it
Ukraine is being destroyed for useless territories.
Let’s build a strong Ukraine in what remains.
No more bloodshed. We’ve had far too much. Putin will see Justice from his creator though perhaps not on this earth.
Fine let me be perfectly frank. It's people like you that would have worked for Hitler.
How truly arrogant you are. It's up to the people of Ukraine to decide, not you - not me.
The bloodshed will continue as long as the West gives in to Putin's demands. Appeasement was the US policy in 1938, and look at what happened.
Rapes, murders, kidnapping of children? The country is not human anymore. Russia is far, far too dangerous now.
The only course of action at this point is for Russia to unilaterally withdraw and cut further losses.
Or maybe we could dismantle an alliance that has no purpose other than to antagonize Russia, apologize for blowing up their pipes, integrate them into the Western economy and isolate China. Doesn't that make more sense than pushing them right into China's arms?
This is what we should have been doing if our policy makers weren't hung up on ancient grievances.

After Russia loses in Ukraine I hope the country spends a few decades evolving into something tolerable.
Most of "Russia's" culture and history actually came from Ukraine. They even stole the name Russia from the Kievan Rus.

Yes that makes total sense (/s), wolves only attack sheep because the shepherds are there. If the shepherds are removed the wolves would not attack the sheep at all.
Russia just shows why NATO is still relevant and necessary. We should be moving toward more alliance and cooperation and less stupid war that wastes money and lives. Not backward to more bloodshed and lost generations.

Some in the West, including the Baltic states, understand:
- you never negotiate with Russians. The Russians will only waste your time while plotting to attack you.
No. With Russians, you achieve a position of superiority over them through force. Then, you dictate your terms. If the Russians abide by your terms, all is well. When they deviate, you project force in a proportional response.
Once Russia has been expelled from Crimea and the rest of Ukraine territory, only then can “negotiations” begin.
