^^ I concur but I think this thread shows that it's one of those things that really bother some people and not others. I'm in the latter camp and am just fine with seeing planes go by. It's just not a big deal to me at all nor does it impact my sleep or quality of life.

Airplane noise concerns are overblown. End of thread.

I lived in a condo in Rosslyn and I could not tolerate having my windows open because of airplane noise. It wasn’t a big deal at the time but if I’m buying a place with an outdoor space I want to enjoy, airplane noise is a hard no.

I mean, these closures have nothing to do with airplane noise so I don’t really understand this post. There is one poster that really has it out for people who buy property in the Palisades. Many banks are shuttering brick and mortar locations as banking is now primarily done virtually. Also, new retail will move in to these spaces as these are both desirable locations. I’m excited to see what they bring!

Well, who knew?! Knock me over with a feather.

Any level of airplane overhead = bad sleep = health problems for the rest of your life

I live in Arlington in a neighborhood where occasionally you can hear the planes taking off, but not often. Today they changed their flight path to right over my house for about 2 hours. No one could sleep it was so loud, even with noise machines. I really sympathize with those dealing with this all the time.

There are areas of Old Town Alexandria that flood and have constant aircraft flying overhead. No idea how those places ever sell.

Honestly, a fair disclosure would be the best. People are still putting houses under contract at $2m and $3m plus so I think that’s fair to both schools of thought on the flight path harms. I wouldn’t but it’s a free country.

Why'd you move there?

It's a nice home! And the schools are great. We also bike a lot so C&O access is fantastic.

The airplane stuff is a minor issue that makes quality of life lower, but our fool's hope is that things will get better in the future by routing more over McLean. I plan to bother our congressman about this with some letters.

OMG. Stop blaming the people. Things change like the NextGen, people think they can cope etc. there could have been 500 planes when they looked well now it’s like thousands
