Yes when somebody makes a promise and then does not keep it, you might divorce.
It’s hard for many to understand holding their spouse to their promises, since most don’t,
He has reneged on his promise more than once, he does not care about her needs or to have a relationship with his children.
Again , it’s hard to understand since so many men work 80 he weeks and have no relationship with their kids and many women are okay with that,

Exactly! You'd think he'd have enough sense to work with someone like a life coach to help him transition to something he could be passionate about other than playing football. It really speaks to how stunted he is an an individual that he can't let go of being a player.

I think everyone underestimates the impact of his plan to go to the Miami Dolphins being imploded by a lawsuit filed by the former Dolphins coach against team owner Stephen Ross. It seems clear Gisele hated Tampa Bay, hated the family being apart, wanted all of them to be in Miami. Tom had a plan to get to the Miami team but that lawsuit imploded those plans.

I’d walk too. This is common when you marry a workaholic. It’s easier to just leave and make your own happiness.
+1. Different profession totally but I work for one of the intel agencies. We had a guy that had a particular focus and he had great success - was at the top of his game for 15 years. But it involved almost 24/7 commitment, could be called in at any time, no matter what, long hours, travel to dangerous places on no notice, etc. He spoke to the workforce during his retirement ceremony and made it clear that he had made a promise to his family and was going to keep it.

Nobody knows what happens behind closed doors. But if she said retire or divorce, and he retired but then changed his mind then that’s another layer to the story.
They have discussed this multiple times in interviews.
They promised to retire together.
He reneged on the deal, she said clearly football is 1st and we (his family is 2nd).
They discussed it often, it’s not “behind closed doors” information.
Lots of this is in “Tom vs Time”
She catered to his crazy for years, his diet, his routine, the house had to be a specific temperature at all times. It’s all public information.
