This PP is a troll. There is no such thing as a teacher resident anymore. They are lying.
It’s not called “teacher trainee” and it does require a bachelors degree. I don’t know how people with associates are getting the job. That is insulting to us licensed teachers.
If only people did their research. It IS called teacher trainee - see the link below:
https://www.fcps.edu/teacher-trainee
"The Teacher Trainee Initiative (formerly called the Teacher Residency Program) helps you start teaching while finishing up the requirements to become fully licensed in Virginia. "
Yes. It also says one requirement is “Bachelor's degree conferred/awarded from a regionally accredited college or university”.
Yes, exactly. Why are you arguing with me, I'm just posting the ground truth. I told you all the associates degree person is a liar, as is the "teacher" who is claiming there is no teacher trainee program. Here's the proof.
Ah, sorry to have jumped on you like that!
Sorry it was an autocorrect. I was trying to explain that it went from being called teacher resident to teacher trainee. I was questioning how someone with an associates got the job.

That’s already happening. Many schools have long term subs or a revolving door of random subs or IAs teaching classes indefinitely because they can’t fill positions.
Agree with the other PP that the first priority must be to stop the bleeding of experienced teachers. Money is part of it but definitely not the only factor.
+1
I left in June. For me it really wasn’t even a factor.
Same. I left after the 2021-22 year. Money wasn’t in the top 5 reasons, but working every weekend and disrespectful students were towards the top.
