I made a Walgreens appointment in Cheverly for DD for next week (relatively far from us) but then was able to get a Health Center one in Silver Spring for today. I tried to cancel the first Walgreens appointment but they wouldn't let me keep the second one (which is in our town). I guess they account for no-shows but it seems crazy that they make you register as a guest for the kids vaccine and then the appointment phone system isn't fine-tuned enough to cancel one of two appointments. I finally was able to talk to a person but they were like just show up for the appointment you want.

They offered it - we declined because I want to get our next one closer to home. They later sent an email with a special link to sign up for a second shot, if you want to.

Are they offering appointments for the 2nd shot over the Thanksgiving holiday/weekend? Or having people push the second dose out past that?
The three weeks is only a minimum, not a requirement.
