Here's her campaign webpage:https://kamalaharris.com/
This is incredibly light on content. I'm not a Trump fan but I can't in good conscience vote for a Presidential candidate who can't bother to put together a platform of her positions on key issues. J
ust voting for her because she's a Black/Asian woman or
not Trump doesn't cut it for me.
Why not? Unfortunately, while there are many shades of gray, we only get black and white when it comes to the presidential vote. You can vote for Trump or you can vote for Harris. A vote for a 3rd party (like RFKJ) or not voting will tend to be a vote for the candidate that is doing the best in polling.
In this case, many of us are definitely voting for Harris to prevent Trump from being reelected. He is a convicted felon, who is trying to get out of going to prison. He is also one of the most inept presidents that we have had in history. Let's start with economically. He inherited a strong economy and still managed to give huge tax cuts to the rich and corporations that ended up with the single largest increase in national debt over 4 year in history. He alone caused 30% of the entire national debt during his term in office. The deficit went up $8.1T to $28T at the end of his four years in office. The only other individual president who increased the deficit more was Obama who increased it $8.34T over 8 years, which was about $4.17T during each four year term. Trump increase the deficit more than the first 42 presidents combined.
He also encouraged government corruption to an extreme amount. He made secret service and foreign dignitaries stay in Trump properties in Washington and Florida and charge the government elevated rates. He made on the order of $1M per year on profits off the USSS and foreign visitors. Ivanka and Jared used political connections they gained from their unofficial positions as Trump advisors to enrich themselves. They created business partnerships with companies and wealthy individuals in the middle east (mostly Saudi Arabia, but other nations as well) which allowed them to profit both during their terms in the White House and afterwards.
He is a terrible bigot and has encouraged racial tensions against virtually all non-white minorities. Violence against each of these groups went up significantly during his term in office as he gave hinted support to White Supremacists, anti-Semites, anti-Asians and anti-Latinos.
His foreign policy is terrible for the US. He has threatened to pull the US out of NATO. He curries favor with authoritarians like Kim Jung Un, Putin and the leadership of Iran.
He supports many anti-women policies including abortion restrictions, banning of abortion medications. Despite what he says today, he is a known pathological liar who cannot be trusted. He has claimed many positions, but when he was in office, his actions showed that he was very consertatively extreme and regardless of what he says to focus groups or audiences that make him look less extreme, he still took extreme actions as POTUS.
He is a radical and cannot be allowed to appoint more justices to the Supreme Court that could destroy personal freedoms in America for the next several generations.
There are many good reasons to vote for Harris just to prevent Donald Trump from returning to the White House. If the Republicans had nominated any sane individual, I could understand your position, but his positions and the actions he had in the White House, show that this man is too dangerous to allow back into the White House. And if that means voting for a mediocre candidate on the other side, then so be it.
