The teams play other teams of similar standing from other conferences so I interpret a draw record to mean that the team is currently where they should be in their conference standings, a winning record to mean that they are currently playing above their standing, and a losing record to mean that htey are currently playing below their standing. Look foward to hearing respectufl critiques on this methodology.
2009 Brave (ranked 13), did not play
2009 Union (ranked 7), strong winning record, currenty playing above 7 rank.
2010 Brave (ranked 6), weak winning record, currently playing slightly above 6 rank
2010 Union (ranked 2), strong losing record, currently playing below 2 rank
2011 Brave (ranked 7), strong draw record, currently playing at 7 rank
2011 Union (ranked 9), strong losing record, currently playing below 9 rank

I would just put the records and GD.
09 Union - 2/0/1, GD +5
10 Union - 0/3/0, GD -3 (what has happened to this team since Jeff Cup?)
10 Brave - 2/1/0, GD +1
11 Union - 0/3/0, GD -4
11 Brave - 0/0/3, GD =0 (3 0-0 ties, is this accurate?)
Sounds like there were opportunities, but given it’s a showcase, they may not have been playing to win.

I’m on your side in this debate, but I’m also a long term SSRI user. These drugs are among the most commonly prescribed in the US so statistically, it’s highly likely you know someone close to you who has been taking them (or will be, like when your kids go to college), but you wouldn’t know cause you make comments like this.
Anyway, I do not agree that RL or lower-level travel teams are just glorified rec, but even if it was, why would it bother anyone? RL parents are “wasting” their own $ and their kids will never play NL kids, so why waste energy on putting them down?
Agreed my DD plays on a ECNL-R team and has (3) D-1 commits. I do not think Regional league is REC soccer at all
That is great to hear that collage coaches do indeed take a look at RL. What I have seen at least in this area, RL teams don’t offer any growth opportunities. Hardly Arlington RL.
On the boys' side they barely look at ECNL, frankly. I have a son in ECNL and one in MLSNext. Major difference. Sidelines this morning at MLSFlex were loaded with college coaches and national team scouts there.
It just doesn't happen like that in boy's ECNL and the caliber of schools that come out is generally lower.

Either you are blind or full of $hit. My sons are both with ENCL teams and starting at U17 you will find 20 plus scouts at during each half. You should be ashamed about promoting misinformation.
Not. OMG. The sheer number at one of the big MLS events massively dwarfs your 20 scouts...and there are also MLS and National team scouts. AT my kid's game in Phoenix the sidelines were 4 deep of college coaches. I have no reason to lie. I have a kid in each league.
