This is such a lie. Yes, they both lived in Ohio together while working remotely in 2019:
But Usha Vance’s Supreme Court clerkship ended last summer, and they bought a home in Cincinnati in June. Usha took six months off to stay home with Ewan and get settled in Cincinnati, Vance said in a telephone interview, then began work this month as an associate at the San Francisco-based law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson.
Both of the Vances are working remotely from home, Vance said.
Given their work situations, why live in Cincinnati? Vance, who confirmed that he has given up his German Village rental apartment, said he wanted to be close to Middletown, where he grew up and where his mother, sister and aunt still live. “We saw Mom—the baby and me, Usha was skiing—last week. It's pretty nice just to be able to drive up and have dinner and then come back home.”

Yes but this leaves out an important part - they moved to a very exclusive part of Cincinnati that is an hour away from Hamilton - which tells you how not normal middle class Usha is. She moved to the southern part of Cincinnati which is not unlike Kent.
And I am guessing Gwen Walz THOUGHT she looked good - her toes were exposed and she was wearing “linen” and a jacket.
None of you know anything about the Midwest and it shows!!
I also think it's weird the Usha poster keeps bringing up Gwen Walz as an example of "she looked bad too."
One, plenty of us said that linen sack and messy ponytail were not a great look. Honestly I am old school and think sandals for professional events are not ideal, unless they have a bit of a heel to them.
Two, I am only a couple years younger than Usha and I would be mortified if I looked bad and someone was like "Yeah but this 50something woman also looked bad too." Like, you should try to be a bit more stylish than someone old enough to be your mother.
Agree to all this PLUS at the equivalent event Usha also looked terrible. It was that in that beige dress that started the thread that got shut down.

Also having revisited that thread I think the inappropriately off the shoulder for a luncheon blue dress we were just discussing is the same as her GOP convention speech dress.

Gwen Walz appears to TRY - she doesn’t have the natural beauty Usha has - that’s why we are hard on her - she has so much potential and dgaf
Are you joking? Gwen Walz was extremely casual on the public stage. I mean, at least be honest. Where’s the rabid “unkempt and sloppy” poster?

Gwen is a flyover state boomer, like 20 years older than Usha. She is a retired teacher with degree mill credentials. Married to a lifelong teacher and public servant.
Usha is the millennial child of millionaire Ivory Tower head honchos, raised in the most exclusive neighborhoods of San Diego, with Oxford and Ivy League degrees, and a high powered legal career. She is married to a multi-millionaire Ivy League lawyer, financier, and author, turned senator and vice president.
Usha and Gwen are not peers. Usha should be dressed as polished as princess Kate and Anisha Rosnah. She falls very short, to put it mildly. It’s embarrassing.

This is just beyond silly. Did you actually expect them to move to Hamilton, Ohio? What other political couples have moved back to their depressed hometowns? And the point was that YES, they did live in Ohio together. Stop moving the goalposts.
As for Gwen, she truly did look like she just threw on something that was on the floor of her closet. I’ve never seen any political spouse look so unkempt - and yes, I’m borrowing that word from the resident “unkempt/unwashed” weirdo because in Gwen’s case, it actually fits.
Um, plenty? You have to be a resident of the state/district you represent. With the Vances it's a little different because he represents the state, not a district, so they can live anywhere in Ohio.
I certainly don't begrudge them living in Cincinnati because I'd do the same thing but you act like no one is a resident of the place they represent when it's literally in the Constitution that they have to.
Ok. I'm just going to repost all of the lies that I was responding to. You - or the above posters - move the goalposts every single time you're called out.
"It’s also worth noting she refused to move to the less sophisticated Ohio when he was running for senate. She stayed in California and then they moved to Virginia after he won."

So first you claim she "refused to move to Ohio" with JD. Then, when proven wrong, you backtrack by saying, they didn't move *to his hometown* in Ohio. I mean, just give it a rest. They did indeed live in Ohio, in Cincinnati. Quit moving the goalposts because you're embarrassed to have been called out.

That blue dress is HER dress. It's perfect for her body, the color looks amazing on her...I can see why she'd want to wear it frequently but a luncheon was not the place for that.
That beige dress was horrific. And the shoes! The Usha weirdo is I think referring to me whenever she brings up someone calling those shoes ugly because I did. But they are SO BAD. Even just a simple nude or black ballet flat would be fine.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Just saw an instagram comment about Usha which said "Allow me to put it in perspective: Usha is only three years older than Taylor Swift." That's actually crazy to realize. I knew she was young but I don't think I realized she was that young.
And you can say what you want about Taylor Swift's fake ass relationship, cheesy music, whatever, but she's proof that you can look your age without veering into Trump wife territory.
1. Taylor’s probably older than most middle aged people think.
2. Being an attorney and mother of 3 ages you a lot more than being a rich, single, child-free woman. Part of Taylor’s job is looking glamorous. Usha is very new to having that expectation.
Not sure what this means. Taylor was born in 1989, Usha was born in 1986. Those are objective facts. One looks good, the other doesn’t.
True, those are facts - but one is a glamorous superstar and the other is a woman who has never sought the spotlight and only recently found herself in it. And she looks like the normal woman she is.
And therein lies the problem, PP. Nobody expects a late 30s woman in the spotlight, a political spouse who was a high powered attorney no less, to look normal. Once you make it to the level of political spouse, you need to look put together and if you're in your 30s and 40s, especially, you need to look like the type of person that others should strive to be. You want to be aspirational. Usha looks normal, but as a millennial woman in the spotlight, she needs to look better than normal. That is just the world's expectations. Especially nowadays.
I'm sorry, but this is so silly. Did Karen Pence look "aspirational"? How about Jill Biden? Your use of the word "need" tells me that you are a follower of trends and expect everyone else to be too. Usha Vance doesn't "need" to look anything other than professional and appropriate, which she does. Her age has absolutely nothing to do with it and certainly doesn't mean she somehow has more obligation to look "better than normal" than any other VP's wife.
I'm the PP who wrote what you're quoting a few days ago -- you missed the part where I said "a late 30s woman" - Karen Pence and Jill Biden were not.
But again - what does her age have to do with it? She looks fine for her position. She doesn’t have to look “aspirational.” That sounds like something a vapid influencer would say.
Serious question...why do you care? There is a group of posters in this thread who take every comment about her SO seriously that people can be forgiven for thinking said posters know Usha. I can't imagine caring that much what people say about the outfits of someone I've never met, even if I'm a fan. I'd say I'm a casual fan of Meghan Markle but I don't really care if someone doesn't like her outfit or makeup at one appearance, unless it verges into racism like "She looks ghetto" or in Usha's case the comments about her looking like she smells bad were anti-Indian racism. Then I can imagine caring.
But insisting over and over again that she looks impeccable 100% of the time and getting mad whenever someone says she doesn't is strange behavior, even for a fan.
Hmm. I don’t recall anyone saying she looked “impeccable 100% of the time” - please do cite whatever you’re talking about.
At any rate, it does seem to trigger you immensely whenever anyone does say they like what she’s wearing or that she looks good on any given occasion. And I certainly don’t care at all if someone doesn’t care for this or that outfit that Usha Vance happens to wear. I don’t like everything she wears, but it’s insane to claim she “doesn’t care” or looks like she just “rolled out of bed.” The stupid hyperbole is very much a tell that something else is going on with the poster. It’s when the criticism veers into unhinged comments, such as claiming she has to look “aspirational” or that she doesn’t wash her hair (??). I mean, what kind of person comes up with this nonsense?
I liked that Saloni dress she wore to get of AF2 in India, I liked the white Mother's Day (or whatever it was) dress, and most recently I said she looked good at the peace officer thing. So, no, I wouldn't say that any mention of her looking good triggers me.
I don't think she looks like she doesn't wash her hair so I can't speak to that comment. It frequently looks unkempt and unbrushed but not dirty, imo.
And you can push back on it all you want but the fact of the matter is the First Lady and Second Lady are meant to look aspirational. Melania manages this and she is almost 20 years older than Usha.
So then, back to Gwen Walz. Would you say she looked “aspirational”? And don’t give some excuse about her age. You seem to have very obvious double standards of who should be required to look “aspirational.”
