These posts are being made by a small subset of parents here who are throwing everything they have against the wall to see if they can get any of it to stick.

Unless things get really bad, like lots of kids sand teachers end up in the hospital (in which case, you'd think you'd want schools to close), schools are not going to shut down here.

There is zero appetite for closing schools among teachers, families, and administrators.

It will have to be really dire because the right wing hallucination that teachers and the school board are hovering over a big red "Close School" button cackling evilly, AND the people REALLY freaking out about covid in every way and wanting to open nothing, are not representative of the community at large.

Honestly, I actually preferred setting up 10 min 1:1 virtually instead of open house. I actually got to give my attention and meet each kid and family. Open House you are all over the place. Same with Back To School night. Prefer virtual. Parents did too!

Our ES open house is being split into session by student last name alphabetically. BTSN is going to be virtual.

There is always a sub shortage. It will be worse this year. They will just make us cover eachothers classes and lose planning. No idea about the bus drivers. But being short on bus drivers will not tank school. They will just make routes more crowded.

Cobb has zero masks requirements. Not surprising.

To add, I know we technically don’t as a state, but with schools mandating them, adults who attend school events will have to mask. We just got the email it’s mask for all in Loudoun and we are higher vaccinated than Georgia so this shouldn’t be an issue for us.
