I could not be any more horrified at people like you using events like this to push an agenda. I could google and list a ton of disturbing crimes that have happened in Bethesda, Potomac, Falls Church or whatever suburb you fled to. Crime is not unique to a city. You are gross and I am actually glad you left our city.

I agree so much. Look OP, good for you for moving. But let it go. You're gone, what do you care. Let the rest of us do the work you wouldn't do to press our government to do better.

Been there, done that. They don't care about victims of crimes.

Hang on a minute. Who are “the victims?”

Did it ever occurre to you that maybe the so-called shooter is a victim too?

Maybe he has long been a victim of systemic racism? Maybe he was unfairly imprisoned?

Or maybe his father was unfairly taken from him as a result of a racist criminal justice system?

Holy f*ck. What is wrong with you.

DP but it seems you are easily taken in by trolls.

DP

What makes you think that PP is a troll? I know people IRL who will argue those exact points until they are blue in the face. Are you one NextDoor? There are plenty of actual people (not anonymous posters) who will come in and vehemently defend criminal behavior by portraying the criminals as victims.

Heck, my kid in public school has been exposed to variations of this argument. They are almost explicitly taught that some people have been victimized and that explains their behavior.

I can second this post.

There are thousands of people in this area who believe this stuff.

I used to live by there years ago. We moved when my kid was little and I’m so glad we did. DC is even worse then when we lived there and I had multiple bad experiences with men, almost all black, following me and uttering profanities and sometimes threats.

There are no mass shootings (except for PG County) in the suburbs and you know it. When is the last timer a white person shot a white person in Montgomery, Fairfax, Loudoun, or Arlington?

I love that the response to an expression of horror to someone thinking that a child shot is not a victim is "you are stupid."

I get it, you're a troll, and we're in the "making people angry/shocked means I've won" scenario.

I’m the PP but not the troll. The post was written obviously for the express purpose of eliciting outrage and it’s clearly worked. I recommend being more circumspect next time you see something that gets your blood boiling.

A witness says Bedney was riding a Lime DC scooter near the victims' house when one of the victims shouted to Bedney, "Hey, my kids are playing out here."

Bedney and the witness got into a verbal altercation wherein the witness picked up and threw the scooter towards Bedney's feet. The witness says that's when Bedney put a ski mask over his face and pulled out a semi-automatic handgun from his bag, firing multiple shots towards the victims.

Wow! So was that the defending his wife? Or did she throw the scooter? Like road rage without a car. Dumb to incite because you never know and people really don't like things thrown at them. Said he was riding it near their house. I keeping hearing about mowing down toddlers.

So -

A) they had their kid blocking access on a public sidewalk

B) got so mad at someone using the sidewalk that they assaulted him first

They didn’t deserve to be shot but were entitled and aggressive in both circumstances prior to the shooting.

Reminds me of the CA mom who cut someone off in traffic and flipped them off but was sobbing about her baby not deserving to be shot in the news conference hours later.

That stretch of 10th is pretty quiet. It only has one lane of car traffic and a dedicated bike lane on the street. There's no reason for someone to be illegally zooming on the sidewalk into pedestrians.

It's disturbing that you think that telling someone to ride their scooter on the street as required by law is a shooting offense. Also, it sounds like you think that cutting someone off in traffic is a natural precursor to gun violence. What is wrong with you?

Illegal you say https://www.patrickmalonelaw.com/2019/07/13/washington-dc-scooter-laws/
