I'd disagree that Rice is overrated. I think it's grossly underrated. I attended Rice and Stanford at a time when they weren't perceived as being in the same league. Oh, yes they are.

Don’t get me wrong the campus is beautiful and the idea of being in CO is appealing to a wide range of people for sure but paying almost $40k for the privilege I don’t get.
Colorado is freaking gorgeous and booming. In contract to say Michigan, which is grey, cold and flat. And outside of Ann Arbor, the state is full of opioid overdoses and overall in steep decline (losing another congressional district this year).
Michigan is a better school by any metric. UC is a good school in a fantastic setting.
And yes, I guess you have never heard of the dunes in Michigan. Yes, of course the skiing in Colorado is better. That is why busloads of UM students go to skii out west during breaks every year.
Undergrad? Better to who? Public university bachelor's degrees are a dime a dozen. Outside of the Ivies or unless you remain in state after graduation, nobody gives a darn where it's from and whomever is sifting through resumes (likely AI) couldn't care less about Boulder vs Michigan.
And I assure you college kids don't give a crap about "sand dunes" 4 hours north of Ann Arbor in Traverse City nor the laughable skiing options in Northern Michigan. lol
The above comment is probably the dumbest statement that I’ve read here, which is saying a lot!
