Have a heart. Its been a very tough year for all students. Yes, preventing the spread of COVID is important, but its okay if the girls feel a sense of loss, and yes, even shed a tear about it.

Do you know the student? Have you any idea what that young person has been going through this year? Perhaps the pandemic has been harder on her than on you. Parental job loss, family separation, death. Have a little sympathy. Or at least avoid picking on an easily identifiable student on a public forum. Go look inside yourself and do some work on what you see.
That’s what I would focus on - giving sympathy to the near 575k victims of Covid and their families.
Perspective is what is required.

Do you know the student? Have you any idea what that young person has been going through this year? Perhaps the pandemic has been harder on her than on you. Parental job loss, family separation, death. Have a little sympathy. Or at least avoid picking on an easily identifiable student on a public forum. Why was SR not able to do something similar for their seniors?
Stone Ridge is having a prom for its seniors. The event that was cancelled was another event that is tied with the Alumni Association.
