Wrong. FCV was never going to take over Spirit. That comes from Christian himself. It actually turns out that the rumors of FCV being taken over BY Spirit we’re closer to the mark, given the financial difficulties FCV was gaming.

No, my point wasn’t that FCV was ever looking to buy anything. They were obviously sellers. But, the third party, IE St James may have been exploring both clubs either jointly or individually. Spirit was/is not in a position to buy anything and have demonstrated that they are not interested in youth soccer. What would be more likely to believe in a Spirit purchase of FCV was likely a purchase via proxy for the St James. Spirit may have felt they could flip the sale for a quick profit. In the end, they likely just lost a bidding war to the St James.

Well, when you pay your deposit before such an announcement is made you are a bit locked in at this point.
And I don’t think Spirit parents are necessarily rooting for the demise of FCV as much offering honest perspective as parents who have gone through this before. Spirit was also purchased by a millionaire who also made promises. It is wise for FCV parents to be skeptical and be critical this coming year. Make note of how the goal posts get moved throughout the year.
Does Sunday, regen practice during the season in the fall bleed into one weeknight in the spring? Does one futsal practice in Loudoun during the fall turn into two a night over the winter?
Do changes in branding occur slowly?
But the smugness that FCV parents demonstrated during Spirit’s situation while simultaneously ignoring the cautionary tale is baffling. Has anyone really asked why FCV was purchased? Why it was sold is understandable but why St James purchased it is really the only question that will truly answer FCVs future.
I never assumed it was a Spirit parent posting it. I don’t know anyone who took delight in what went on at Spirit over the last few years. All these kids are old friends and teammates, they go to school together. The parents are friends and former teammates. I guess I missed the smugness, but I’m sure there’s some moron out there who made it appear we were all like him. Why St James bought it? Don’t know. Parents aren’t naive, as I said some change is expected and of course everyone is watching, waiting and asking questions. So far, the answers have been solid enough that I haven’t seen anyone run off. I think people have a hard time believing that both Metro and StJFCV can both succeed. I happen to believe they can. Neither has to hope for the demise of the other.

I think everyone expects some change just not the drastic life-changing stuff that keeps popping up on here. Not saying it’s you spewing it, just seems like there’s some poster on here with the daily ‘danger, danger leave, run’ garbage. Seems that for now, no one is doing that.
I'm not saying that. I'm only saying "don't be naive" to those who say nothing will change. The changes may be good overall for the club, even if some inconvenience a handful of Loudoun parents.

VDA practices range from Longpark to Howison. So to say that FCV will not be practicing at Evergreen exclusively when no other clubs with different locations practices exclusively at one location.
And the difference is VDA and Armour are all club affiliations that requires such an accommodation for the partnerships to work. There are no such partnerships for The St. James FCV to worry about maintaining.
