If education is a priority them choose Wootton, Whitman or Churchill own your decision. You'll probably have a smaller house not feel rich.

What are you babbling about? They are great schools, but they’ll get dragged down (first WJ, then Wootton, and finally the others) by the demographic forces that are gradually sinking the county.

Test scores of demographic cohorts at these schools are almost identical to all other MCPS schools. The quality of education is the same. The difference is fewer low SES kids bringing down the average. So basically your idea of a good school is one that is highly segregated?

So the entire range of white kids' averages is 1100-1300. This is otherwise known as about the increase associated with having taken a test prep course. So, I wouldn't use SAT scores as the reason why you should buy a $1.5 million house instead of a $500k house.

I'll bite. Poolesville is a magnet too and white kids there aren't scoring as well on SATs than Blair. And again, white kids at "scary" DCC high schools like Wheaton and Einstein are only scoring around a hundred points below their peers in Wooton, Churchill and WJ.

Good thing only the white kids count towards a school’s reputation! who cares about the other 2300 kids at Blair whose scores we will not discuss. I guess I do see your point. Blair is great at supporting the handful of white kids shipped in, well done Blair.

I think the point was that the white kids that are rezoned to Woodward aren't going to have their futures ruined because they're going to a school with more Latinx kids and that the dog-whistling fear mongering among some PPs in this thread is not warranted when you examine the data.

I wish more people could see past their fears and see the truth of this too.

You consider DCUM to be hard facts? That is some Blair math right there.

Riddle me this considering how much lower Blair scores are (even with the magnet) as a whole, how low are the minority scores that are dragging the white kids scores down. Considering how over represented white kids are in the magnets and what a large percentage of the white kids at Blair they represent, shouldn’t the white score be even higher?

Why does Blair helping the white kids and under serving it’s minorities show that it is a good school despite it’s diversity but a school like BCC that has strong white score while underserves it’s minorities only shows that it is a hell hole for white privilege?

I personally think that makes Blair a worse school as it turns it back on the majority of it’s students to focus on the few it lured to come from outside while keeping the achievement gap status quo. At least BCC support the majority strongly

And the DCC parents cant hate on the W schools and then you white performance as a narrow proxy for there quality.
