DCPS isn't going to make it safe, so time to divest and get vouchers to get something out of our tax money. Otherwise it's move to the'burbs, like what most of my neighborhood has done. Hopefully a DeVos program can re-invigorate our nations cities, because public schools are destroying them.
You know, you may not like the others vouchering into your new private school, OP.

Is this one of the most heavily funded systems in the country with the worst results? It's time for change, and it doesn't look like you will have much say in that - fortunately for the rest of us.
Nice twist. No one is asking for more money to DC. People against vouchers are against money being taken away from public schools and given to private schools and worse - - for profit private schools.

It is not selfish to want that for your child. That is why I said it is fine for you to want that (which I was careful to make clear, by the way, because I knew you would try to demonize and deflect from the argument).
But since you know the vouchers will not and are not intended to create safe schools in the city, and vouchers will not make the kids you don't like disappear, and that vouchers will take funds away from the school where those kids are, then you need to acknowledge that your attempt to claim that you want vouchers to make city schools safer and more academically challenging is bull pucky. You want a voucher to make private school more affordable for you, and you hope your child's current classmates won't get accepted to that school. Once you are out, you don't care a bit about how much worse off the schools you leave behind will become due to cut funding. You won't care that vouchers will bleed them of funding, making them less safe and less academically challenging for other kids because you won't be there.

it's not. but vouchers won't do that in DC. it's been proven here extensively. do you have a plan for how high-quality schools will be created to take vouchers IN DC?
^^^ funny. the only plan is to undermine public education as a right and privatize the whole thing. These are the "government school" nutjobs. I marvel at your restraint in counter argument.
