It all boils down to this. Not to mention he left his teammates hanging, while he is busy posting nonsense on Snapchat and Twitter.
Lochte King of Douchebags. I can't believe anyone would defend him or his childish behavior.

Oh, well, if Jezebel doesn't like him, then he and Feigen should definitely be indicted.

I've been trying to figure out why the story changed so much, but when I watch the video it's pretty clear that they're wasted and probably can't remember exactly what happened. Then there are the reports of camera footage of them returning to their residence seemingly unfazed. I've been mugged and can recall how I was relieved I was that the whole thing was over. I think they were drunk and may or may not have done something worthy of penalty. People who observed their state (in the video, there were several men standing around watching them as they went into the restroom and came out) saw an opportunity and took it. The swimmers couldn't remember what they'd done, couldn't process what was happening, felt ashamed then relieved to be out of there. The story got muddled in the retelling.
I'm sure Brazilian police see this happening all the time, but this time it was in international press and they had to save face. Except now they've made the situation a hundred times worse than it needed to be. The people they're accusing had left the country or were about to, without pressing charges.
This. It's been years since I was going out, getting wasted, and possibly doing stupid shit. I will say that Lochte needs to grow up. Unbecoming in a grown man. Maybe it's time to get a real job.

Huh? Why would you think that? Rio has obviously been a corrupt shithole for years now. This is just an example. I had no plans to go there and will not be making any soon.
Grandma, I told you to go to bed.

No one is seriously suggesting that Brazil is not crime ridden, that would be absurd.
Where is the lie?
Lochte is an American. If you pull a gun on an American and demand they hand over their money, they are likely going to call it robbery. They will believe themselves to be telling the truth.
*sigh*
