I do not know a soul who can not dance at a party or wedding, including very basic ballroom steps. And as far as social graces go, do you not teach and model table manners at home? Have you not taught your child the correct way to receive a guest or introduce themselves to someone or introduce a friend to others? I consider that basic parenting.

You're referring to the Mrs. Simpson's crowd. The Capitol Cotillion crowd would not be caught dead at a McDonald's, particularly after one of the dances.

My son received an invitation from the Capital Cotillion the other week. I was suprised that it cost almost $400. How much does Mrs. Simpson's cost?

Basically I agree, but I did horseback ride after college and into my adult life, until I had a child at 34. I will go back to riding when kids go to college or when we can afford it.

I also basically agree, although I do still take martial arts, even well into my 30s.
