There were MLS academy scouts at the Sept one

Thank you, could you tell which ones?

Hopefully your kid takes it as a life lesson and work harder as that will pay off later in life in some other way.

In an ideal world, what specific transparency information would you want?

Ideally, the coach would say at the beginning of the season "these are the criteria I use to make talent ID recommendations". But they won't because it's better for them not to. Even if they did give some reasonably sounding criteria like work ethic, skills, attitude, etc. it's still a subjective assessment at the end of the day. The same way your boss won't say why Bob got the promotion but you didn't.
bu bu but i cant make deals in the dark if i set criteria and tell the team. Subjective assessments are BS when VEO exists and your DC os confident they are outworking peers in practice.

DMV soccer at least in the age group will go no where without winning team combinations and parents and programs willing to put in the marketing energy for the WHOLE team.

Its no wonder there are no call backs outside less than a handful of kids. I dont know how some of yall put up with it and pay $$ for it.

Anways what ever happened w the make up session. Could it be ruffling feathers before and after dropping balls doesn’t always work out?

Seriously Ive never seen this before. A whole session was added and disappeared overnight. Was a message sent to the MA?!

We’re all but hurt for having read this post. I wish my kid was called up.

Why are people so caught up on who got invited to one ID clinic in PA . There have been multiple ID clinics that invited some and not others . People are super sensitive. The coaches recommendations are not guaranteed to get them ID invites. Scouts come and watch and if it’s not your kid that gets invited it’s not the end of the world . Life goes on..

There maybe a usual ID or but it's more for the practice run for the summit that was going on yesterday. If you looked it up, you would see that what the post said to be a part of Aspire Academy Global Summit and I imagine it's a conference to run tactical show and tell on how to improve soccer better overall kinda thing.

So no one else from VA or MD made it? Is it mostly PA and NJ players then?
yup. VA coaches will ignore the very clear messaging and try to send the same players again next year. Rinse and repeat

It isn’t a matter of “making it”. This ID center was for a different region. Sometimes they bring players from other regions in for an extra look or because there is a positional need within the pool to make that session go smoothly.
they didn’t want any other talent. Its ok to admit your dd didn’t make the cut,

Different PP but it’s kinda true that it’s not “making it” really as it’s a practice run for the global summit. Not particularly like top talent competition for national spot like they normally have. Still good accomplishment for those players that got selected though as I’m sure they are doing well to be selected.

If this is more of the usual ID - we would see more kids from the local clubs attending.

It’s a usual ID… in a different region.

But to be called back for this probably has very little to do with the clubs or coaches recommending it. Not sure what all the whining is about with the other families.
