Well, well where is your local champion? Even after pulling many players from other clubs with cheap propaganda, 0 VDA teams made to Finals.

One team in the final four. One team in the final eight. One team in the 16.

Sounds like a pretty good year to me. Let’s keep the cheap propaganda rolling.

I know ECNL is rethinking the playoff and finals structure for next year because of the World Cup but maybe they should rethink it permanently — how can you insist on kids flying across the country for one game (if they get knocked out)? I know for our DMV girls Richmond is a local trip but it’s gonna suck for the California, Colorado, and Texas parents to pay for another huge trip with the real possibility of only playing a single game!

They play two games. I have no problem with making anyone from the West Coast fly to the East Coast. We have flown to the West Coast every summer for years for playoffs.

Yeah, one more game, but it's a consolation game of the two losing teams and that's it. They could keep going and try to rank 1-8 with another game on Monday, but guess it's not worth it. Still a lot of travel for TWO games.

ECNL probably wouldn't go this due to $$ of getting more teams there, but cutting to 32 teams makes sense. 8 groups of 4. Round robin. Top teams go to knockout round of 8. Only issue is that it's really tough to get that into anything other than a week plus. Just take 16 like the 18/19s?

Are you kidding? The social media posts they get are worth it.

The negativity is so sad. The rankings app includes 2710 girls teams for 2010, and there are many more at various levels that don’t even make it into the rankings. The 2010 FVU made it to the ECNL final 8 — that’s truly an accomplishment to celebrate — and the fact that people want to diminish it speaks way more about them than it does about the team.

Stop assuming the worst 8th best is fantastic. You create the world you want to experience, think more postively for all of us, thanks!

Let me fix that for you.
Congrats to FVU on making National Finals and being one of the top 8 female teams in the nation.
Congrats to Solar, the #2 team in the country and good luck in the next round!
