They won’t recruit from member clubs who unfortunately aren’t strong on the girls side. Just look at the 2013 recruits. Mostly mclean
2013 McLean was one of the best teams in the entire AG. Obviously, they will be over represented.
For 2014s, SYC, Arlington, Loudoun, GFR teams have a lot of great talent over the feeder clubs. You may find a gem or two in the feeders though. I just don’t see them limiting themselves to the member clubs. They don’t guarantee slots just because you’re a member as seen with 2013s.
Don’t forget two of the FVU coaches know the McLean 2014s really really well. They’ve coached them since they were little so don’t be surprised when they all come over next year.
Yeah it will be really interesting to see what happens with Mclean 2014s. If most of them come over to FVU then what does that say about McLean GA, a precedent is getting set. Also, I think a lot of the FVU feeder teams have a harsh reality when it comes time for ECNL tryouts. Timing will also be interesting since GA is Feb. ECNL doesnt prohibit reaching out to non-ECNL teams before March so one would think they are working the angles well in advance of tryouts. While the feeder teams are supposed to be informing FVU about girls to watch, I anticipate a complete disaster this year, especially when you add SY change. A lot of this will probably be based on whomever the coach is.
